College Hoops – Mid Season Odds Round Up
I think we are at about the midway point of the college hoops season. As this is being written there are still a few undefeated teams, some surprises and some disappointments.

It hasn’t been long since Connecticut won its fourth national title at the end of the 2014 NCAA Tournament, but odds for next season’s title are already out.
I know that once you get to the Final Four the notion of underdog becomes subjective but I am still very surprised with the outcome of Florida vs. UConn. Not only did the Huskies beat the top team in the county but they did so fairly obviously.
This year’s NCAA tournament has produced the most unlikely final since the field expanded to 64 teams in 1985, and with it an interesting final is set to played by a pair of teams, neither of which are a top three seed or better and missed the tournament the year before.
As good as the Gators are they must think there is something to go on to have to face the last team that beat them to advance to the Championship Game. It was by only point but a loss is still a loss, especially when you only have two of them all season long.
No. 2 Wisconsin will face off against eighth-seed seed Kentucky in Final Four action on Saturday night in Arlington, looking to punch their ticket to the National Championship game.
I think the East region has loads of possibilities. I am not seeing a lot of upsets in the first round but after that I think we could see many brackets torn up. In my estimation all 8 of the top seeds could wind up representing this region in the Final Four – I am not sure if that makes this one loaded or light.
The South is a tough region, but I think there are only four teams has a legit shot to make it to the Final Four. However, there are a couple of sleepers in the region that may do some damage, but can anybody beat red-hot Florida, who ended the season on fire and is the #1 team in the nation?
It’s everybody’s favorite ritual of early springtime: March Madness! The play-in games go this Tuesday and then we are launched into NCAA Tournament frenzy in earnest.
The Arizona Wildcats will not have the easiest road to the Final Four, with teams like Wisconsin, Baylor, Oklahoma State and Oregon –who upset the Wildcats at the end of the season–all ready to do battle in the West Region.

The Big Dance is here and the 2nd round, after the first round play-in games, gets underway on Thursday March 21st. The 4 top seeds in each region are Indiana, Gonzaga, Kansas, and Louisville.
Basketball in the West often gets a bad wrap. They aren’t all in this region but teams from the PAC 12, MWC, WCC and pretty well represented. Heck one of them even got a #1 seed. For me this is the lightest bracket of them all and not because Gonzaga is at the top.
