The 2012 NCAA Tournament gets underway this Tuesday with the first two games of the First Four Round, but the bulk of the action kicks-off on Thursday and Friday with a full slate of 32 second-round games.

It is really hard to compare the potential of a freshmen and what he will bring so this is more of a basic feel on the top 5 players in the conference at each positions. It is also very difficult when you have many players who play multiple positions but then again we will list these as accurately as possible.

In the past this conference has been all about Duke and UNC as both have finished 1 and 2 respectfully the last two years. Will it be the same this year with all the key departures for both schools? In the past it has been a simple plug and play system because they are far superior in recruiting.
I fear for other schools this just may be what happens this year in the ACC.
