The Mavs are just that – tough.
The Mavs snatched a victory away from Chicago last night in double overtime.
This Mavs team is good but the game should have ended in regulation but the Bulls stupidly fouled Monta Ellis on a three and his free throws sent the game to OT.

Even though they won they might be a little winded tonight taking on Milwaukee without any days rest.
Dallas has won 4 in a row including two in overtime but you have to think they might not be as sharp against a surprising Milwaukee team.
Jameer Nelson was back in the lineup last night but was a non-factor.
The same can not be said of Ellis who scored 38 points in the victory and seemed to have life late in the game when others didn’t.
Even though Nelson started the Mavs got a major contribution from backup PG Devin Harris.
He made all 6 of his three pointers and played a smart all around game with just one turnover.

He may need to be a big contributor as Nelson works back into shape.
Milwaukee is still one of the most pleasant surprises in the league.
Though they should probably be closer to 76ers territory they have a winning record and we are nearly a quarter of the way through the season. Last night they had a close loss to the Cavaliers on the road so they will also be playing a back to back.
It was the second loss in row for this streaky team. These guys are not good but they have shown some resiliency and they might be catching the Mavs at a good time.
You probably don’t watch many Mavs games so you probably don’t know all that much about Giannis Antekounmpo, one of the most versatile players in the game.
At 6’9” there is a natural comparison to Toni Kukoc but that might be a low ceiling given how much he has improved from his first to second seasons.

The Bucks have a young nucleus and the more they let him and rookie Jabari Parker take shots away from Brandon Knight the better they will be in my opinion.
I think the Bucks might continue their sneakiness and catch the Mavs in this one.
NBA Score prediction: Milwaukee 99 – Dallas 98
I haven’t quite figured out why they are better this year but the results are there.

The 2014-15 NBA betting season is approaching with as much hype as any campaign in recent history. There have been player shifts all over the league that have contributed to the hype, but one thing that hasn’t changed is that the Southwest division is still one of the most competitive across all divisions in the Association.
The Dallas Mavericks surprised some people this past season by making the playoffs after multiple offseasons spent unsuccessfully chasing superstars.
The Spurs are 45-42 ATS with an O/U record of 47-39-1 and the Mavs are 49-38 ATS with an O/U record of 48-39. This season the Mavs are 27-16 at home and the Spurs are 31-12 on the road.
There are some bragging rights, as well as the trip to the Western Conference semifinals, in the Lone Star State when the 8th seed Dallas Mavericks face the #1 seed San Antonio Spurs in the opening round of the playoffs.
The NBA regular season comes to a close this Wednesday and while all 16 playoff spots have now been claimed, there are still a few lose ends that need to get tied up with the results of these final games.
