In their first meeting, the Bulls and Mavericks played to a 2 overtime contest in which Monta Ellis hit the go ahead 3 pointer in a 132-129 victory for Dallas.

The Bulls come in on the 2nd leg of their back-to-back while Dallas has been off since Wednesday.

Chicago

The Bulls got a much needed victory Thursday night on TNT. With massive struggles going on for Rose and his teammates, the Bulls came together and trounced the San Antonio Spurs inside the United Center 104-81. Chicago had 6 players score in double figures, which was led by Derrick Rose who dropped 22.

With C Joakim Noah sidelined, it was imperative Pau Gasol keep up his impressive string of play. He did just that against the Spurs as he went for 12 points and grabbed 17 rebounds. He shut the paint down the entire game defensively as well.

The Bulls do not get a chance to reflect on their upset win, as they head right down to Dallas to do battle with the Mavs.

Stepping up defensively and not allowing this game to get into a shoot out mode is a must for Chicago come Friday. With fatigue likely to play a role, they’ll need to stop the 2nd best offense in the NBA. Chicago holds the 15th best defense in the NBA allowing 99.7 points. The Bulls had allowed 100+ points in 5 straight games up until last night against San Antonio.

Even though this will be a quick turn around for Chicago, they have played some solid road basketball as they hold a 15-6 record away from Chicago.

Dallas

After dropping 2 in a row, the Mavericks have looked extremely good over their past 5 contests. Dallas has won 4 of their last 5, with their only loss coming on the back end of a back-to-back against Denver.

In their most recent game, the Mavericks put a beat down on Minnesota away from Dallas. Parsons led the way for Dallas with 20 points in the win. Getting a contribution from him has been rare as he scored 20 points for the first time in 2015.

While Parsons’ big games have been rare, the Mavericks offense continues to impress. Scoring 108.1 points a game, Dirk and company have been a tough team to stop. As of late, the Mavericks have been impressing with their play defensively. Ranking 23rd overall in total defense (101.7 points against), the Mavs have stepped up as of late. During their 3 game winning streak, the opposition is scoring just 86.3 points a game.

The Mavericks currently sit just .5 game behind Memphis for 1st place in the NBA Southwest standings.

NBA Basketball Trends:

  • Bulls are 2-5 ATS in their last 7 road games vs. a team with a winning home record.
  • Bulls are 4-11 ATS in their last 15 games overall.
  • Mavericks are 7-2 ATS in their last 9 games following a S.U. win.
  • Mavericks are 13-4 ATS in their last 17 vs. NBA Central.

Free 4* NBA Basketball Pick: Dallas -8

The Bulls looked impressive against the Spurs on Thursday night. However, with Noah still expected out and some tired legs for Chicago, the Mavericks could pull away in this one.

Dallas 104, Chicago 88

Dirk and Ellis should have big games en route to a Mavs’ lopsided home win.
