Memphis vs Golden State NBA Picks
Memphis is on their best run of the season right now. They have won three in row, all on the road, capped by an impressive win over the Los Angeles Clippers Monday night.

Buffalo is looking to get in and out of this one with a win and healthy to set things up nicely for their showdown for the MAC East title with Bowling Green next weekend.
If the Arizona Cardinals were in almost any other division they would probably still be in the playoff race. However, being 5-4 in the NFC West put them in third place, hoping that the San Francisco 49ers slide a just a little further back.
Break up the Buccaneers right? All they did was get their first win of the season against a team getting torn apart from the inside so obviously they are on the right track now. Perhaps not but it is not like the Falcons are dominating either.
Things are very tight in the NFC East right now. With the New York Giants now off the mat the entire division is only two victories apart from each other. Washington is with the Giants at the bottom and Philadelphia is with Dallas at the top.
The Detroit Lions are now in the driver’s seat in the NFC North. They may not be dominating but they have won their last two games kind of impressively, even if they were only by a combined 3 points.
When the Conference USA teams joined the American Athletic it was supposed to make it a pretty diluted league this season – but I doubt Louisville is thinking that right now. They have already been beaten once by former CUSA champ in Central Florida and if they are not careful another one, Houston, will beat them up too.
The Timberwolves are one of the early surprise teams this season with a very good 6-3 start. I wouldn’t have thought this would be the case but they are the second highest scoring team in the league and had a really nice win against Oklahoma State in the first week that said this is a team to be reckoned with.
In broad strokes this game doesn’t really mean that much. Wisconsin has pretty much no chance to make it to the Big Ten Championship Game while Indiana is in a fight just to get bowl eligible.
Miami’s credibility has taken a huge hit with back to back conference losses. In fact, teh Hurricanes and Blue Devils are actually tied right now in the Coastal Division with 3-2 conference records so whichever teams wins this one will still have a chance to rise to the top of a division that is pretty crowded right now.
The Rockets are 0-2 against the Clippers but have just one loss against everyone else so something is working down in Houston.

They come to New York on the heels of a trip to Philadelphia, a short jaunt up to the northeast with back to back games but this team should be up for it. Houston is an interesting team that should be getting better with every game as they adjust to having a dominant post player in Dwight Howard.
Even though the Rockets now have a defensive presence in Howard they are actualy not very good at stopping opponents from putting the ball in the backet – 25th in points allowed. Fortunately the are good at scoring with an amazing 4 players averaging more than 15ppg so far.
They are also the top rebounding team in the league so the Knicks will have two of their primary weaknesses to be exploited.
Houston has been getting a lot of buzz but that has probably decreased their value to bettors as the more a team becomes public the harder it is isolate those high value opportunities. Still this one at -3.5 seems like a good number for a high scoring team against one missing its main defensive presence.

This one should zoom over the total too.
The Knicks look like they are in trouble. The have a losing record so far and their free wheeling attack is not producing all that many points as they are just 25th in scoring. In addition to that they have almost no presence in the paint either offensively or defensively with Tyson Chandler out and Amare Stoudemire not giving them all that much.
It is only a couple of weeks in but they have way more questions than answers.
Nobody is really playing well right now for New York, not even Carmelo Anthony whose scoring is down by 5 points per game this season over last. He is having the worst shooting season of his career in part because the other threats on the team really aren’t. One pleasant surprise is the play of mercurial Metta World Peace.
He is shooting at a record pace for him which would be great in a more secondary role. This team is seriously flawed and it is hard to see how they thought they were a contender.
As long as Chandler is out I think you can bet the over with confidence. In fact their last 4 games have gone over the total.
When their shots are falling New York can stay in the game but even when they aren’t their weakened defense can get you to the total you need , witness the 120 points they allowed to San Antonio last weekend.
Spread Pick: Houston -3.5
O/U Pick: Over
Score Prediction: Houston 108 – New York 99
You may not have noticed but the Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets are currently leading the ACC Coastal division. I am guessing that they would lose a tiebreaker with Virginia Tech because they lost to the Hokies earlier in the season which means they have no room for error in this game against a Clemson, the team everyone has forgotten.
The Nuggets have not gotten off to a good start this season. The are 1-4 and just lost at Phoenix who is pretty bad in their own right. In this one they get a chance to play a Utah team that is the worst in the league.
Both these teams are hungry for a win in this one, but for different reasons. For Cincinnati they need to keep pace with the other division leaders in the AFC and this is still a young team that doesn’t want to let doubt settle in.
Neither of these teams seem to be heading anywhere this season. In Buffalo they knew there might be some hard times this season with a new coach and a rookie signal caller but those have been heightened by injuries that have forced them to start three inexperienced QBs so far.
With back to back wins the New York Giants are trying to make the long trek back to respectability. They have an excellent chance to get another one on Sunday when the hapless Oakland Raiders come to town.
