Buffalo Bills vs. Pittsburgh Steelers Gambling Prediction & Week 10 Preview

Buffalo vs Pittsburgh NFL Football Spread/Handicapping

Neither of these teams seem to be heading anywhere this season. In Buffalo they knew there might be some hard times this season with a new coach and a rookie signal caller but those have been heightened by injuries that have forced them to start three inexperienced QBs so far.

In Pittsburgh they have plenty of experience at the pivot but the performance surrounding Big Ben has been far from worthy of winning.

A big change from what we are accustomed to and bettors have been getting creamed as a result.

Buffalo

The news at the time this is being written is saying that QB E.J. Manuel is probable for the game on Sunday. Even though this is probably a lost season for Buffalo that is a good thing for them in both the short and long term.

If he is ready to go with no restrictions he represents the team’s best shot for a road upset.

With and without Manuel the Bills are one of the top rushing teams in the league. Both tailbacks are healthy at the moment and the smart strategy will be to attack a Steelers rushing defense that is the second worst in the NFL.

That will have the dual result of shortening the game which takes the pressure off a defense that has been just mediocre this season.

The strategy seems simple the question is whether they can execute, on the road against a desperate prideful opponent.

Manuel has to avoid mistakes for the Bills to have a chance to win. He has shown that he can rally the team late so look for that.

Pittsburgh

I keep thinking these games are gut-check, must have for the Steelers and they keep losing so I think it is fair to say this just isn’t a very good team. They have lost their last two games, both on the road, but when it comes to covering the spread they are equally bad home and away.

The bottom has completely fallen out of the things that we come to expect from Pittsburgh, namely running the ball and playing great defense.

The former could be balanced by a productive passing attack which hasn’t really happened, while the latter is harder to adjust to on the fly.

Last week they surrendered 55 points to New England negating their own best scoring output of the season.

I want to believe that taking the Steelers at home against a team like the Bills is the smart technical and emotional play but I have been burned more than once by Pittsburgh this season so I am getting a little gun shy. I think others are too.

Spread Pick: Pittsburgh -3
