#2 Alabama Crimson Tide (8-1, 5-1 SEC) vs. Mississippi State Bulldogs (5-4, 1-4 SEC)

After a gut-wrenching battle for the ages last week in Tuscaloosa, the Alabama Crimson Tide must be frustrated about all the opportunities they squandered, as they came up on the shy end of a 9-6 OT result.

Houston Texans vs. Tampa Bay Buccaneers Free NFL Betting Picks

Venue/ Stadium Raymond James Stadium, Tampa, FL

The Texans (6-3) have won 3 straight and are atop the AFC South, but are they for real? They have only beaten one team that is over .500 and QB Matt Schaub is not putting up the numbers he usually does.

Tennessee Titans vs. Carolina Panthers Free NFL Betting Picks

Venue/ Stadium Bank of America Stadium, Charlotte, NC

After a hot start the Titans (4-4) have lost 2 of their last 3 games and they have to start winning to keep pace with the Texans in the AFC South. The Panthers are coming off a bye and they have only won 2 games all season and while Cam Newton has shown he is the real deal Carolina still has big concerns on the defensive side of the ball.

Pac 12 Week 11: Arizona State vs. Washington State Preview & Prediction

ASU Sun Devils vs WSU Cougars NCAA Football Odds

Arizona State comes into this one losing two of their last three games. Their opponents have had a much tougher time as of late however, as the Washington State Cougars have lost five games in a row, and they have shown no signs of being able to break that streak.

SNF – Patriots vs Jets Week 10 Gambling Preview

When the New England Patriots watched Eli Manning and the New York Giants march down the field and steal the game from them in a fashion eerily similar to the 2008 Super Bowl, it was as though the levee finally broke.

Minnesota vs. Green Bay Week 10 NFL Lines & Spread Prediction

MNF – Vikings vs Packers Week 10 Gambling Preview

It wasn’t very long ago that when the Green Bay Packers and Minnesota Vikings met, it was a battle between two future Hall of Fame quarterbacks, with the intriguing sidebar of mentor versus student and all of the excitement that went down in Wisconsin along the way. For years it was Aaron Rodgers learning behind Brett Favre in Green Bay.

Western Kentucky Hilltoppers vs. #1 LSU Tigers Game Preview

Western Kentucky Hilltoppers (5-4, 5-1 Sun Belt) vs #1 LSU Tigers (9-0, 6-0 SEC)

The good news: Western Kentucky has a 5-1 conference record. The bad news: that conference is the Sun Belt. More bad news: WKU plays this Saturday night against the #1 team in the nation. Yet more bad news: the Hilltoppers travel to LSU to play in one of, if not the most daunting venues in America. Whoa boy.

Tennessee Volunteers vs. #8 Arkansas Razorbacks Game Preview

Tennessee Volunteers (4-5, 0-5 SEC) vs. #8 Arkansas Razorbacks (8-1, 4-1 SEC)

If it weren’t for the unparalleled dominance of LSU and Alabama (indeed, Alabama’s only slip-up has come against LSU themselves) the Arkansas Razorbacks would look like a helluva football team. But, having only one loss and being ranked in the Top 10, the Hogs sit third on the heap in the SEC West division.

#20 Auburn Tigers (6-3, 4-2 SEC) vs. #15 Georgia Bulldogs (7-2, 5-1 SEC)

After last week’s crazy #1 versus #2 conference clash between LSU and Alabama, other marquee SEC match-ups seem anti-climactic. Trust me when I say, however, that will not be the sentiments Between the Hedges this Saturday afternoon.

Velasquez vs. Dos Santos UFC on FOX

UFC on FOX 1: Velasquez vs. Dos Santos
Date/Time: November 12, 2011, 9pm ET/6pm PT
Location: Honda Center, Anaheim, California
Broadcast: FOX

Cain Velasquez (9-0-0): -165
Junior dos Santos (13-1-0): +145

What a way to usher in a new era of MMA! The Heavyweight Title is on the line on Saturday night and the fight will be broadcast on FOX for the whole world to see. Junior Dos Santos brings his elite level striking to the Octagon to take on the top notch wrestling ability of Champion Cain Velasquez. For the Challenger, his take down defense will be challenged and for the Champion, his chin will certainly be tested.

Cain Velasquez is a dominant wrestler with heavy hands and some of the best cardio in the Heavyweight division. His takedowns and ground control are some of the best that the Heavyweight division has ever seen. Although he is not scared to stand and trade, Velasquez will try to get this fight to the ground. The fact is that Cain has never faced anyone with the striking ability of Junior Dos Santos.

Junior Dos Santos is another fighter that possesses amazing conditioning. He is one of the most feared strikers in the Heavyweight division. Dos Santos has that rare combination of technical and powerful striking that is nearly impossible to defend. He has won eight straight fights, six by strikes against top notch competition. What’s lost in Junior’s striking prowess is the fact that he owns a Brown Belt in jiu-jitsu under Antonio Rodrigo Noguiera. Dos Santos is a handful anywhere this fight happens to go.

Betting Prediction: Cain Velasquez will have to get this fight to the ground – there is no way that he wants to enter into a striking battle with Junior Dos Santos. The danger with that plan is the fact that Dos Santos is one of the most accurate strikers in the game. Junior will know that Velasquez is coming and should be able to keep him at bay with a strong jab. Dos Santos has worked his takedown defense extensively with one of the best camps on the planet – Team Black House that features Anderson Silva, José Aldo, Lyoto Machida, Antônio Rogério Nogueira, Antonio Rodrigo Nogueira, and former Chute Boxe Academy fighter Antonio “Nino” Schembri. There is no way that Velasquez could have improved his ability to get hit by a truck in his training camp! Punching prowess wins over grappling prowess in this one!

Pick: Junior Dos Santos +145

Clay Guida (28-11-0): +210 vs. Benson Henderson (14-2-0): -250

How does this Lightweight fight not make it on National Television? Clay Guida, winner of four straight fights takes on Ben Henderson, the former WEC standout who has been knocking on the door of the UFC Lightweight title since his arrival with the organization. Guida is quick, tough and as relentless as they come. The problem is that Henderson is better in all of those aspects of MMA. Henderson has the speed, the strength and heart to give the unflappable Guida fits. In a tremendous fight, Henderson will prove that he is indeed the next challenger for the UFC Lightweight title.   [ad-3573245]

Pick: Ben Henderson -250

Norifumi ‘KID’ Yamamoto (18-4-0): -360 vs. Darren Uyenoyama (6-3-0): +300

Darren Uyenoyama makes his UFC debut against a legend in the sport and former top pound for pound fighter on the planet, Norifumi ‘KID’ Yamamoto. Yamamoto may be long in the tooth and the fact remains that he has only won once in 4 plus years. But he should be able to defeat the inexperienced Uyenoyama on Saturday – if he doesn’t; it is time to hang up the boots!

Pick: Norifumi ‘KID’ Yamamoto -360

Cub Swanson (15-4-0): +130 vs. Ricardo Lamas (10-2-0): -150

Cub Swanson hasn’t been all that impressive lately losing two of his last four fights. But Swanson’s experience and superior ground game will be too much for Lamas to handle.

Pick: Cub Swanson +130

Pablo Garza (11-1-0): +255 vs. Dustin Poirier (10-1-0): -305

A very good Featherweight bout comes our way on Saturday. Both Pablo Garza and Dustin Poirier have lost just once in their MMA careers. Poirier is a handful and could elevate himself to the elite class of Featherweight fighters before too long. Poirier’s ground game will be the difference in this one in a very good fight.

Pick: Dustin Poirier -305

Clay Harvison (9-3-0): +230 vs. DaMarques Johnson (12-9-0): -275

Two former The Ultimate Fighter alums do battle on Saturday. I have never been a fan of Johnson and his 12-9 record. Harvison is in a good position to pull the upset in this one. Take the underdog!

Pick: Clay Harvison +230

Mackens Semerzier (6-3-0): -115 vs. Robert Peralta (15-3-0): -105

In Featherweight action, Robert Peralta puts an eight fight win streak on the line against a rather inexperienced Mackens Semerzier. Peralta makes it nine in a row on Saturday!

Pick: Robert Peralta -105

Mike Pierce (12-4-0): -320 vs. Paul Bradley (18-3-0): +270

These two fighters have fought once before with Pierce winning. Pierce is simply the better fighter and should be able to duplicate his previous success against Bradley.

Pick: Mike Pierce -320

Aaron Rosa (16-4-0): -145 vs. Matt Lucas (14-2-0): +125

Matt Lucas makes his UFC debut in Heavyweight action. Lucas is a beast and should be able to handle Rosa in this one.

Pick: Matt Lucas +125

Alex “Bruce Leroy” Caceres (5-4-0): +215 vs. Cole Escovedo (17-8-0): -255

In Bantamweight action, The Ultimate Fighter alum Alex Caceres moves down a weight class to try to save his employment in the UFC. Don’t bet on it happening against a decent all around fighter, Cole Escovedo.

Pick: Cole Escovedo -255

Rams vs. Browns Week 10 NFL Preview & Free Pick

St. Louis Rams (1-7) vs Cleveland Browns (3-5) NFL Betting Preview

The St. Louis Rams were actually the favorites in the weak NFC West coming into the season. Things haven’t gone as planned so far this year for the Rams. The 49ers are running away with the division, and the Rams are in last place.

The Browns were looking to build on some momentum they built up at the end of last season.

Rams vs. Browns
Time/Date: 1:00 PM EST, November 13, 2011
Venue: Cleveland Browns Stadium
Broadcast: CBS
Rams vs. Browns Gambling Odds from Bookmaker
Spread: Browns -3
Moneyline: Browns (-150) Rams (+130)
Over/Under: 37

Cleveland has lost four out of five, and this is a game the Browns really need to win to get back on track.

Sam Bradford had a spectacular rookie campaign, and many expected another big year out of him. He hasn’t been bad this year, but he hasn’t progressed the way many hoped. Bradford has been slowed by some nagging injuries. It is also important to remember that he has what is probably the worst receiving corps in the league. The recent acquisition of Brandon Lloyd should help the team in the long run. Steven Jackson is having a very impressive season. Jackson is averaging 5.1 yards per carry. It helps that the team has a solid backup in Cadillac Williams. Both running backs are fully healthy coming into this game.

The Rams defense was much improved last year, but they have struggled this season. The front seven has been absolutely dominated on a consistent basis. St. Louis is allowing opponents to rush for 154 yards per contest. The middle of the defensive front has suffered multiple injuries this year, and that certainly hasn’t helped this unit. James Laurinaitis and Chris Long continue to look like youngsters to build this defense around. [soliloquy id=”82219″]

The Cleveland Browns offense has really had trouble getting started this season. Peyton Hillis was the biggest surprise of the season last year, and he has been one of the biggest busts of the year in 2011. Hillis has been injured constantly and he has been in a contract battle with the Browns front office. The Browns rank 31st in the league in rushing yards per game. Colt McCoy doesn’t have a ton of weapons to work with either, but he has progressed in his decision making under center. The Browns average just 14.9 points per game.

Cleveland’s defense has kept them in the game so far this season. The Browns rank first in the NFL in pass defense. Joe Haden leads a very talented secondary. Haden is quickly becoming known as one of the best cover corners in the league. The front seven hasn’t been nearly as good, especially against the run. Opponents are running for 144 yards per game against the Browns. As a whole, this defense continues to improve on a weekly basis.

The Browns don’t have much of an offense at all right now, so I simply can’t pick them when they are favored. The Rams are 1-8 ATS in their last 9 games. I think this sets up as a sloppy game where both offenses settle for field goals.

Detroit Lions vs. Chicago Bears Week 10 Free Pick

Detroit Lions vs Chicago Bears

The Detroit Lions cruised into their bye week by hammering the Broncos.  They were nicked up a bit  before but they should be fresh now heading to rival Chicago to try and cool the warm (I refuse to think they are hot) Bears.
