Things will be heating up in the Carver-Hawkeye Arena in Iowa City for the inter-state rivalry that exists between the Iowa State Cyclones (6-2 SU, 4-3 ATS) and the Iowa Hawkeyes (8-2 SU, 5-1 ATS) in NCAA college basketball sports betting action that is scheduled to tip off at 8 PM ET.
The Toronto Raptors (9-12 SU, 8-13 ATS) are still trying to turn things around under their new coach. On Friday night they will lace ’em up against the New Jersey Nets (11-9 SU, 12-8 ATS) in NBA pro basketball sports betting action that is slated to tip off at 7:30 PM ET at the Izod Center in East Rutherford, NJ.
The Chicago Bulls (10-11 SU & ATS) and the Memphis Grizzlies (7-15 SU, 9-13 ATS) have both won two games in a row. On Friday night these teams will get together for some NBA pro basketball sports betting action that is scheduled to begin at 8 PM ET at the FedEx Forum in Memphis.
The Los Angeles Lakers (18-3 SU, 10-10 ATS, 12-8 O/U) will get a shot to avenge their surprise loss to the Sacramento Kings (6-16 SU, 10-12 ATS, 12-10 O/U) on Tuesday when the teams meet at the STAPLES Center tonight.
The Boston Celtics (21-2 SU, 12-10 ATS, 11-11 O/U) set a new franchise record on Thursday, getting off to the first 21-2 start in franchise history. The New Orleans Hornets (12-6 SU, 8-9-1 ATS, 9-9 O/U) have won three consecutive games and seven of eight overall.
The NFL, or No Fun League for those of you who miss the good ol’ days of NFL betting when dynasties ruled and the Detroit Lions won games, must be happy about the parity in the league this season.
Outside of impressive years from the Tennessee Titans (12-1, 11-2 ATS) and the New York Giants (11-2, 10-3 ATS), and the potentially historically awful campaign from the Detroit Lions (0-13, 5-8 ATS), everyone else is pretty, well, average.
There’s a great NBA game in Boston tonight as the Celtics do battle with one of the Western Conference powers, the New Orleans Hornets.
Sportsbook.com lists Boston as a seven-point favorite, with a Total of 189. ESPN will have this as opening game of its Friday night twin-bill starting at 8 pm ET.
Premier League darlings, Manchester United come up against a side that is on the up in the sports betting market when they make the trek to Tottenham on Saturday. The Spurs are proving to be a hot soccer betting ticket in the marketplace since Harry Redknapp took over the reins in October, winning five league matches already after going winless until his arrival.
Oklahoma Sooners’ quarterback Sam Bradford leads the list of Heisman Trophy finalists in a race between the country’s top quarterbacks.
Bradford headlines a list that also includes Florida’s Tim Tebow and Texas’ Colt McCoy. All three leaders had outstanding seasons but only one will be crowned on Saturday night in New York City.
The NFC Conference has been incredibly difficult this year not only for the teams but also for sports betting fans. There are a number of teams in the NFC Conference that are in a position to garner a wildcard berth in the NFC Playoffs. That makes this Thursday night’s game between the New Orleans Saints and Chicago Bears a must win for both teams.
How exactly do you grade a loss to a turnaround team? That’s exactly the situation we’re facing when trying to figure out if the Giants were exposed by the Eagles, or if it was just one of “those” games for Eli Manning. The Titans take over the top spot again since they have the better record, but the rest of the rankings are as muddled as my drunk grandmother trying to clip coupons using a butter knife.
Two teams who are now fighting for a playoff spot will tangle on Sunday in a critical NFC South matchup when the Cinderella story Atlanta Falcons (8-5 SU & ATS) play host to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers (9-4 SU, 7-6 ATS) in NFL pro football sports betting action that is slated to kick off at 1 PM ET at the Georgia Dome (artificial turf) in Atlanta.
The National Football League enters its 15th week of sports betting and BetUS Sportsbook will have all of the action covered when the New York Giants (11-2, 10-3 ATS) invade the Lone Star State to do battle with the Dallas Cowboys (8-5, 6-7 ATS).
The Miami Dolphins (8-5 SU, 6-7 ATS) are in a flat-footed tie with the Patriots and Jets for the East lead. On Sunday they will try to separate themselves from the pack, but first they must get by the San Francisco 49ers (5-8 SU, 6-7 ATS) in NFL pro football sports betting action that is set to kick off at 1 PM ET at Dolphin Stadium (natural turf) in Miami Gardens, FL.
The Saints have defied the sports betting odds by making a late charge for the NFC Wildcard, standing with a 7-6 SU record. Everyone jumped on their bandwagon early this season, and the pieces certainly seemed in place. They brought Vilma in from the Jets; added Jeremy Shockey from the Giants, Marques Colston was prepared to make the jump, while Reggie Bush continued his frustrating slow adaptation to the fast paced NFL game.
Week 15 of the 2008-09 NFL season is do or die for a number of teams, but even more so tonight for the New Orleans Saints (7-6, 9-4 ATS) who will invade the frozen shores of Lake Michigan looking to get the best of the Chicago Bears (7-6, 6-6-1 ATS) in tonight’s online betting battle. Both clubs remained in the playoff hunt last week by picking up home win and covers against their opponents.
