NBA Betting – Hornets vs. Celtics (Dec. 12)

Free pick and preview plus NBA betting odds and basketball lines for the matchup featuring the New Orleans Hornets and the Boston Celtics…

NBA Hornets @ Celtics

The Boston Celtics (21-2 SU, 12-10 ATS, 11-11 O/U) set a new franchise record on Thursday, getting off to the first 21-2 start in franchise history. The New Orleans Hornets (12-6 SU, 8-9-1 ATS, 9-9 O/U) have won three consecutive games and seven of eight overall.

Tonight, both teams will look to continue their respective winning ways when they battle at TD Banknorth Garden.

The Celtics routed the Washington Wizards 122-88 on Thursday to easily cover the spread as a 10-point road favorite, just as I predicted in the BetUS Locker Room earlier in the day.

“I’ve been a big fan of history,” forward Kevin Garnett said. “To establish ourselves in that history that’s so enriched with culture and prestige and tradition is a great thing.

Paul Pierce led the Celtics with 22 points, six rebounds and eight assists and veteran shooting guard Ray Allen also had 22 points in the win.

The Hornets dominated the Charlotte Bobcats on Wednesday, winning 105-89 to cover the spread for BetUS NBA betting backers as a 15-point home favorite.

Forwards David West and Peja Stojakovic each scored a team-high 17 points while point guard Chris Paul added 15 points and 15 assists.

Here is a look at tonight’s key trends, followed by my in-depth analysis and NBA Free Pick.

Boston is 5-0 SU in its last 5 games at home
Boston is 6-1 ATS in its last 7 games at home
The total has gone UNDER in 8 of Boston’s last 10 games when playing at home against New Orleans

NBA Odds

New Orleans Hornets +7 -110
Boston Celtics -7 -110

Over 190 -110
Under 190 -110

Analysis: While the Celtics are just 2-4 ATS on 0 days’ rest this season, I like the C’s to cover the 8-point spread against the Hornets with a solid effort against one of the better teams in the Western Conference.

Simply put, take the Celtics to send another emphatic message to the rest of the league in this contest tonight.
