Colts vs. Irish Gambling Prop

Football Props Colts vs. the Irish – Head-to-Head

I bet you didn’t know that the good folks at BetUS Sportsbook have some great propositions on the table in which you bet a head-to-head matchup between a college football team and an NFL club, usually falling within the same geographic region. We will endeavor to take a look at as many of these as we can, and today that means we examine a “matchup” between the Indianapolis Colts and the Fighting Irish of Notre Dame.

AFC Quick Hit Preview From Betus Sportsbook

AFC Quick Hit Preview From Betus Sportsbook

 by BetUS Staff

The AFC North might as well be called “How The Mighty Have Fallen”. Baltimore is soul searching, Cincinnati is just trying to stay out of the slammer and Pittsburgh has gone offensive. Meanwhile, Cleveland has risen amongst the ashes to become the favorite to win the division. Can they repeat their Cinderella season? Or will one of the other three pick themselves up off the mat?

THE FAVORITE – Cleveland Browns (+175 to win division)

Why do I love the Browns over the NFL odds-on favorite? Simple. This is a team that is accustomed to running the score, and keeping pace with the full-throttle offenses in the league. They averaged a stunning 25.13 point per game on offense, and have added speedster Donte Stallworth to help free Braylon Edwards and Kellen Winslow Jr.

NFC Team Previews

Wide Open NFC to Have Unexpected Contenders for Title

With Week One of the NFL preseason a thing of the past, it’s time to take a look at how each team fared in an effort to give BetUS NFL online bettors a bit of an edge heading into Week Two of the preseason and beyond.

Here is a brief look at each team, followed by my overall analysis on the NFC up until this point.

NFC East

The Giants fell to the lowly Detroit Lions 13-10 last Thursday, and saw quarterback Eli Manning, the Super Bowl MVP, struggle on his only two series, completing just two of six passes for 19 yards in his first game without Plaxico Burress or David Tyree. Still this team is not worried in the least.

Daily Sports Roundup: August 14

Daily Sports Roundup: August 14

The National Football League heads north of the border on Thursday night to kick off the second week of its preseason schedule. Here’s your Daily Sports Roundup . . .

Event of the day . . .

The Buffalo Bills are starting to tap into the lucrative Toronto market this season, and it all begins with their exhibition game against the Pittsburgh Steelers at Rogers Centre on Thursday night (with the kickoff set for 7:30pm ET). And Bills supporters hope that their team will be lucrative at the betting window once again this season.

Buffalo went 7-9 straight-up in 2007, but they were 10-6 against-the-spread. Pittsburgh, on the other hand, was 10-6 SU last year, and only 8-8 ATS. For Thursday night the Vegas oddsmakers have pegged this neutral-site game as a pick’em, despite Buffalo’s proximity to Toronto. The total for the game has been set at 33 points.

Steelers starting QB Ben Roethlisberger should see just limited time on Thursday, with newly-signed backup Byron Leftwich getting more snaps. Don’t expect to see much of RB Willie Parker either. Bills starting QB Trent Edwards will be looking to bounce back from a poor outing in Buffalo’s preseason opener against Washington.

Online Poker Hand Selection

Poker Hand Selection Tips

August 14 2008

In the game of Razz, starting hand selection is very important. Unlike games such as Omaha or Texas Holdem, you can’t hit a monster hand with any old cards. This is a low-hand game, so you must start with low cards if you want a chance to win a hand. Razz is played in the 7-Stud format, so your first three cards will help you decide if you’re going to play the hand.

You should have no cards higher than an 8 in the first three cards you are dealt. Sometimes you can go to the 9, but 9-high rarely wins a hand. Stick with the 8 rule, and if it’s the beginning of a tournament you can drop it down to 7-high. The only other times you might consider playing three first cards bigger than a 9 would be if all of your opponents are showing big cards and your up card is small, or if it’s late in a tournament and there’s pressure from the blind levels. Then you come in with a raise and you can often pick up the pot right there.

There are no other exceptions for playing hands with cards bigger than 9. You drastically decrease your odds of winning if you do, so stick to the rule and you’ll find success.
