For them to do that they have to have this game against Washington and hope for a Philadelphia loss that will make their finale against the Eagles a winner takes all battle (the game is in Big D).

Washington has already shut down their starting QB for the season and is obviously playing out the string but you never know with Dallas or these Redskins, who just can’t seem to get out of their own way.

The Cowboys had another Tony Romo implosion last week against Green Bay, losing a game they shouldn’t have and thereby putting enormous pressure on themselves for this week and next.
I am not one of those who think that Romo is the very definition evil but in some situations it looks like he needs to have his options taken away and play the percentages…and I think the player and the coaching and system deserve equal part of the blame.
When these teams met early in the year Dallas won by 15 but they probably should have lost that game. Looking deeper into the number you will see that they got a punt return for a score and Washington shot themselves in the foot with 12 penalties, which evened out the fact that the Cowboys were outgained by more than 200 yards that day.

Washington is pretty bad but the gap between these two teams might not be as great as it looks on paper.
Washington
Don’t hate on QB Kirk Cousins too much because it is not his fault that we was in the game last week instead of Robert Griffin III. Cousins showed again that he is a very capable backup but his mistakes also showed that there will be no QB controversy in Washington next summer.
Washington lost by a point last week against an equally hapless Atlanta team. They put up a ton of yards through the air on the ground but amazingly lost 5 fumbles in the loss.
As expressed above this team is not nearly talented enough to overcome those kind of mistakes, including 9 penalty flags against them at Atlanta.
If they can play a clean game they should be able to make this one competitive but the way these teams are playing who knows how it is going to go.
Even though the Redskins are out of it at this point they would certainly love to spoil the Cowboys season.
They have to be a live dog but I think Dallas is the smarter play.
