NFL Free Pick: Kansas City vs. Denver Gambling Lines & Handicapping Preview

Week 2:  Chiefs vs Broncos Predictions

NFL Week 2 betting action sees the Kansas City Chiefs taking on the Denver Broncos Sunday September 14th at Sports Authority Stadium in Denver.  Cappers Picks provides free NFL handicapping tips all season long.

Kansas City is looking for their first win of the season but it is going to be hard to find it against Denver at Mile High. The Broncos looked primed for another Super Bowl run while the Chiefs seem to be heading in the opposite direction.

Kansas City

The Chiefs were responsible for one of the more disappointing performances from the first week.

At home against Tennessee they were light favourites and lost by 16, showing little sign of being a threat in the AFC West.

They got nothing going on the ground with their ace running back Jamaal Charles and to make matters worse they lost Derrick Johnson, their best linebacker for the rest of the season.

They have an amazing 15 players on their injured list and Denver is a team they need to be at full strength to challenge.

With all of those injuries I just don’t see how they are going to be able to compete. Their passing game is nowhere near good enough to play catchup and there is no surprise they will want to establish Charles so that might not be effective either.

This team is going to keep sputtering for a while, they might not get their first win until October – the large spread here is totally justified.

I am not sure why it has come down.

Denver

In the first half of the Sunday nighter against Indianapolis it looked like 2013 all over again for the Broncos.

They burst out to a big lead before ultimately cruising to victory. A win is a win but I thought we might see a little more resolve from the Broncos D which let Indianapolis put too many points on the board even though the game was not really in doubt.

The short of it is it looks like Denver is going to be the class of the AFC yet again, with Wes Welker or without him.

The only thing fighting the Broncos in this one might be complacency or getting caught looking too far ahead – they play @ Seattle next week.

This one opened at 13 and has dropped but I really don’t see any reason to look more closely at the Kansas City.

This just makes winning with Denver all the easier. Even if they do go into cruise control a little early the Chiefs don’t have the weapons to come back like the Colts did.

NFL Football Week #2 Prediction:  4* Play on Denver -11.5

NFL Score prediction:  Denver 38 – Kansas City 17

The Broncos have won 4 straight against KC and the difference between the two teams is probably greater right now than it has been over any of those 4 covers. Take the Broncos and the points. You will be feeling good by the time halftime rolls around.
