The reason the Wildcats are such big betting underdogs in this game is while they do have a great rushing offense, their passing defense only ranks 103rd in the nation, they gave up a ton of passing yards in last week, and they wlll be facing an OSU passing offense that ranks 4th in the nation. NCAAF lines have OSU as 21-point favorites with a total of 69.5.
In their last games KSU was crushed by Oklahoma 58-17 and OSU beat Baylor 59-24.
This game is HUGE for the Cowboys, who can move into the top 2 teams in the BCS rankings with #1 LSU facing #2 Alabama this Saturday.
Does Kansas State have any chance to contain the dynamic offense of OSU? I would say no way. They have to deal with the 3-headed monster of QB Brandon Weeden, WR Justin Blackmon, and RB Joeseph Randle. In last week’s game Weeden had 3 TD passes with 0 INT, Blackmon had 172 receiving yards, and Randle had 152 rushing yards and had 4 TD for the 2nd straight game.
Kansas State is solid at defending the run, ranking 17th in the nation, but their pass defense is a major concern, which is a big understatement. Last week in the loss to Oklahoma they were at home and gave up 520 passing yards. Yeah, 520 passing yards at home. [soliloquy id=”82219″]
The one chance the Wildcats have in this game is they have to run for a ton of yards. They have a one dimensional offense ranking 20th in the nation in rushing yards per game, but only 113th in passing yards per game. They will have to get HUGE games from rushing RB Collin Klein and RB John Hubert, who have combined for over 1,400 rushing yards this season.
The Cowboys only rank 84th in the nation in defending the run, so KSU has that going for them. In last week’s loss the Wildcats only rushed for 182 yards and that will not cut it in this game. The KSU offensive line has a tall task in this game, as they have to open up holes for the rushing game and keep the OSU front line from getting to Klein. Last week against Oklahoma Klein was sacked 7 times.

Here is my prediction Mr. Jason, Yes KSU had a baaad game against the Sooners, but it was good for them. They have came in as a underdog in most their games and came out on top. I think they needed a loss to get their heads back in place and continue their wiining ways. Yes OSU has an outstanding offense, but KSU has an outstanding offense and defense as well. After today we will now who is better, but I predict KSU beating OSU and OSU beating OU making KSU the Big 12 CHAMPS!!!
