Venue/ Stadium: Royal-Texas Memorial Stadium, AUSTIN, TX
The big question for this game is which Texas Tech (5-3) team will show up? The one that scored 41 points to snap Oklahoma’s 39-game home winning streak a couple weeks ago or the one that totally fell flat last week in only scoring 7 points in a blowout loss at home to a .500 Iowa State team?

Texas Tech Red Raiders vs. No 21 Texas Longhorns Preview
NCAAF lines have Texas (5-2) as 14.5-home favorites in this game with a total of 61.
The Red Raiders have to get back to playing behind their 5th ranked passing offense, as while Texas is coming off a win they lost their previous 2 games by a combined score of 93-43 to 2 of the best passing teams in the nation in Oklahoma and Oklahoma State.
In their last games Texas Tech was embarrassed at home losing to Iowa State 41-7 and Texas snapped their 2-game losing streak with a 43-0 home win over Kansas.
Tech QB Seth Doege had, by far, his worst game of the season in last week’s loss to Iowa State only passing for 171 yards with 0 TD and 2 INT. It was only the 2nd time all season he did not pass for over 300 yards. He has a solid WR corps and will be facing a Texas pass defense that ranks 21st in the nation. However, in their 2 losses to OU and OSU the Longhorns gave up almost 600 passing yards.
Doege will have to get back on track in this game, especially since lead RB Eric Stephens is out for the season with a knee injury. Freshman RB DeAndre Washington has been decent with Stephens out and he has to pick up some yards on the ground to take some pressure off Doege. However, that will not be easy facing a Texas run defense that ranks 19th in the nation. [soliloquy id=”82219″]
With Texas playing with 2 young QB’s the Longhorns have got back to running the ball and their 17th ranked rushing offense blew up for 441 yards on the ground in the win over Kansas last week. RB Malcolm Brown has rushed for over 100 yards in his last 2 games and freshman RB Joe Bergeron had his first ever 100 yard rushing game in the easy win over Kansas. That is not good since Tech only ranks 114th in the nation defending the run.
The Texas QB duo of David Ash and Case McCoy only lead the Longhorns and their 90th ranked passing offense and they do not need to make big plays, but they do have to avoid mistakes.
Betting Trends
This season Texas Tech is 4-3 ATS and has an O/U record of 6-2 and Texas is 4-3 ATS and has an O/U record of 3-3-1.
Texas Tech is 3-7 ATS in their last 10 games as a road underdog, 6-2 ATS in their last 8 games as a road underdog of 10.5 points or more, and has an Over record of 4-1 in their last 5 road games.
Texas is 3-9 ATS in their last 12 home games, 5-1 ATS in their last 6 games as a favorite, and has an Under record of 4-1-1 in their last 6 home games.
Jason’s Pick: For some reason have to go with Tech in this game, as I think they will have a big game through the air on offense. This game will be a shootout and go Over and while Texas may win Tech will cover the spread.
