The game marks Syracuse’s first ever trip to Cameron Indoor Stadium and the new ACC team will surely be in for a rude welcome from the Durham faithful. They may get a sluggish Duke team as the Blue Devils will be playing their third game in six nights after playing Thursday’s make up game against the Tar Heels.

Both teams enter this game in unfamiliar territory.

Syracuse in particular will be facing a first on Saturday, as they are coming off of their first loss of the season. The team couldn’t have thought their unbeaten season was in much danger when a Boston College team that had been 6-19 on the season came to the Carrier Dome, but it was those same Eagles that handed Syracuse its first loss of the season, a 62-59 decision in overtime.

Boston College guard Olivier Hanlan in particular gave the Orange fits, scoring a game-high 20 points on 6-of-14 shooting. Syracuse standout C.J. Fair had 20 points and 11 rebounds, but needed 23 field goal attempts to get there, and that was a major problem throughout the Syracuse roster, as the team shot just 32.3 percent from the field in the game.

The Blue Devils are coming off a loss of their own, thought theirs is a little more understandable. Duke lost in the last installment of the Tobacco Road rivalry on Thursday, falling to North Carolina by a score of 74-66. Forward Jabari Parker had 17 points on 7-of-14 shooting in that one, adding 11 rebounds and filling out his stat line with two blocks, an assist, and a steal.

It’s been the play of Parker that has really carried the Blue Devils through some tough times this season, and his increased willingness to attack the basket has meant big things for him. The Blue Devils will be looking to him again in this one after he was limited to just 26 minutes in the first meeting between these teams due to foul trouble.

Considering the first meeting between these teams went right down to the wire, the Blue Devils sure are giving away a lot of points in this one. That really could be the difference on this night as Duke will have a hard time building, and keeping, a significant margin against an always scrappy Orange team that has shown an ability to win games in hostile environments this season.

The Orange are 5-0 ATS in their last five road games.

The play: Syracuse +6
