San Antonio Spurs vs. Minnesota Timberwolves Gambling & NBA Handicapping Prediction

San Antonio vs Minnesota NBA Picks

The Spurs are off to a great start this season but they are just 2-2 over their last 4 games. There is no cause for alarm as losing at OKC and to Houston are not bad losses but they do shed some light on this team. [ad-4468020]

ATS Matchup Insight | CP Insider Gambling Preview

San Antonio

San Antonio is just that, a team, lacking that one dynamic player that makes a difference in critical must do situations. They beat you by being more than the some of their parts.

Stalwart big man Tim Duncan is coming off his best game of the season in San Antonio’s narrow victory over Atlanta.

The Big Fundamental had 23 points and 21 rebounds, just his second double-double of the season.

The Spurs are definitely managing his minutes but I think they are best when he is the lead dog in terms of scoring. When Tony Parker is scoring a lot it sometimes takes away from his overall effectiveness out there.

When the Spurs are short favourites they always get my attention.

They are such good winners and when they only have to win by a bucket or two it just seems to make so much sense. Despite that they have been only so-so in those kind of situations this year and are not a great ATS team overall at just 9-8.

I am liking the fact they are 7-2 SU on the road though.

Minnesota

Minnesota got off to a good start but they have been stumbling lately.
[ad-6571516]
They have lost 6 of their last 8 games to fall below .500 and are looking to rebound at home where they are winning two thirds of the time.

Getting a winning streak going against San Antonio is a tall order but they split their games with the Spurs last year and have a pretty good counter for Duncan in a guy named Kevin Love.

Speaking of Love, his scoring has come down a bit lately but he is forming a nice duo with Kevin Martin – they are both averaging 23ppg.

That has meant a lot of assist opportunities for Ricky Rubio who just needs to improve his shooting to jump to that next level of point guards. He is not there yet and he will have his hands full with Tony Parker who is probably quicker than him and won’t let him cheat on defense.

Home dogs are always enticing but I don’t like Minnesota in this spot at all.

San Antonio is tough to beat under any circumstances and if you are not playing well they are not going to kick start your efforts to do so.

This team can jump up and bite you if you are not careful but it won’t be happening Wednesday night.

Spread Pick: San Antonio – 2.5
O/U Pick: Over
Score Prediction: San Antonio 107 – Minnesota 100
