Monday NBA odds: Nuggets at Mavs

Team records:
Houston: 37-36 SU, 32-41 ATS
San Antonio: 44-29 SU, 38-34-1 ATS

Tim Duncan has showed signs of his age lately, but he’ll get a chance to prove the doubters wrong on Wednesday when the Houston Rockets come to town.

Matchup: Rockets at Spurs

Time: 8:30 p.m. ET
Venue: AT&T Center
Spread: San Antonio -11
Over/Under: 198

San Antonio (44-29, 38-34-1 ATS) is playing some very mediocre basketball right now. The Spurs have won just four of their past eight games. Worse yet, they’re coming off a 90-84 loss to pathetic New Jersey. The Spurs have been just as unreliable at the sportsbook, going 4-4 against the spread in their last eight games on NBA odds.

They’ve won five of six at the AT&T Center, though.

The Spurs offense is sputtering. It has averaged just 91.2 points per game over the last four losses—and that’s including a 114-point overtime game with the Atlanta Hawks.

Tim Duncan certainly isn’t playing his best basketball. The future Hall of Famer has managed just 11.4 points per game over his last five outings, with a high of 16 (he’s failed to crack double-digits twice in that span). Duncan’s rebounding is down to 8.8 per game in those five games.

Houston (37-36, 32-41 ATS) beat Washington 98-94 on Tuesday night. It ended a four-game losing streak for the Rockets, though they remain just 2-5 in their past seven games. Houston has been ever worse against the spread; it has failed to cover once in five straight games and is just 3-7 ATS in its last 10 outings. Taking to the road won’t help matters, as Houston is 4-6 ATS in its last 10 road games. Online Sports Betting at Sportsbook

The Rockets ended their losing streak largely thanks to an unexpected source—Chase Budinger. The rookie is averaging just 8.3 points per game this season, but he torched the Wizards for 24 points and six rebounds. Budinger also hit the go-ahead shot with 28 seconds left and nailed some clinching free throws.

Overall, Houston got a huge effort from the bench thanks to Budinger, Kyle Lowry (17 points) and Jordan Hill (10 points).

This is the fourth meeting of the year between Houston and San Antonio.

The Spurs won the first match up but lost the latter two, though they haven’t played since late February.

Rockets vs Spurs Free NBA Pick: Both teams are struggling, but at least San Antonio has fresh legs. That should serve Duncan some good; he and the Spurs should take advantage of a Houston team playing poorly and on back-to-back nights. Bet on San Antonio.
