NBA basketball betting sees the Chicago Bulls vs. the Houston Rockets on Wednesday February 4th at the Toyota Center in Houston, Texas. Cappers Picks provides complimentary handicapping picks all NBA season long.

Some lustre has been stripped from this message thanks to the Bulls struggle to start 2015 but this is still a capable team.

We might get a midweek treat.

Chicago

I suppose every good team has a bad month and Chicago certainly had one of those in January.

They were under .500 to start 2015.

They have suffered from some injuries for sure but even when whole they have not been good enough.

When they are healthy and playing well I still think this is one of the best teams in the Eastern Conference.

February is now upon us and the Bulls have had a rare three day break between games. They will want to set a more positive tone before the All Star break.

Chicago is still waiting for Mike Dunleavy to get back in the lineup and maybe they miss him more than I would have expected.

He is a big part of this team’s defensive identity but his outside shooting loosens things up on offense. The Bulls do get a lot of scoring for their wing players but Jimmy Butler and Derrick Rose are not feared shooters.

The same goes for Aaron Brooks who is instant offense but does not fit that profile either.

Houston

The Rockets are also enjoying a break to start the month. They lost their final game of January against Detroit but did pretty good work overall with an 11-6 record to start things off.

The Rockets are looking pretty good this year but also find themselves in the NBA’s toughest division, with all 5 teams currently over .500.

This is a team that matches up well with Chicago and there is a good possibility we get a playoff like game on an otherwise nondescript Wednesday night.

According to injury reports it looks like Dwight Howard is going to miss this one.

That will make a difference as the Bulls are more than solid up front but I like the Rockets chance to piece things together up front and ultimately let James Harden score his team to victory.

Harden loves to rise to a challenge and the leading scorer in the league will look to make sure that Jimmy Butler has his hands full.

NBA Betting Trends:

  • Bulls are 4-0 ATS in their last 4 games vs. a team with a winning S.U. record.
  • Bulls are 1-6 ATS in their last 7 games following a ATS win.
  • Under is 11-2 in Bulls last 13 road games vs. a team with a winning home record.
  • Over is 4-0 in Rockets last 4 vs. a team with a winning S.U. record.
  • Over is 4-0 in Rockets last 4 games following a ATS loss.
  • Rockets are 5-0 ATS in their last 5 games following a SU loss of more than 10 points.
  • Over is 11-3 in the last 14 meetings in Houston.
  • Over is 20-6 in the last 26 meetings.
  • Bulls are 2-5 ATS in the last 7 meetings.

NBA Betting Prediction:  Houston -3

I really like the opening value of this number so don’t wait around on it.

NBA Score Prediction:  Houston 99 – Chicago 92

My hunch is that Houston will have more action and it could climb into that two possession easily.
