NBA Betting – ESPN Double-Header Preview

Before nba gambling fans turn their attention to other sports betting events this weekend, we have the NBA. It’s time for our weekly Tuesday hoops picks for NBA betting action.

The main topic around water coolers nowadays are the March Madness odds and general college basketball betting but the NBA playoff-talk is heating up as we approach the postseason. ESPN will show a national double-header on Wednesday with two games that feature plenty of playoff implications.

Denver Nuggets @ Boston Celtics

Season Record:
Denver: 47-24 SU, 31-35-5 ATS
Boston: 45-25 SU, 29-40-1 ATS

The Denver Nuggets and Boston Celtics are both in the thick of the race in their respective conference, but they aren’t in the spot they want to be. Both the Nuggets and Celtics would like to be the top seed in the conference so that should they have to meet up with the Los Angeles Lakers or the Cleveland Cavaliers, they’ll have the extra home game in the series. Instead, both No. 1 seeds are out of reach and the Nuggets and Celtics are just hoping to avoid finishing lower.

The Nuggets have a slim lead over the Dallas Mavericks and would like to avoid falling behind them whereas the Celtics are neck-in-neck with the Atlanta Hawks and need to keep winning to stay ahead.

The Nuggets will play on Monday night in New York and then travel to Boston afterwards, which should put them at a disadvantage. Along with home court advantage, that difference in fatigue should lead to a Celtics win on Wednesday.

Los Angeles Lakers @ San Antonio Spurs

Season Record:
Los Angeles: 52-18 SU, 29-39-2 ATS
San Antonio: 42-27 SU, 36-32-1 ATS

When the San Antonio Spurs acquired Richard Jefferson, a lot of people felt that they could potentially threaten the Los Angeles Lakers. After disappointing efforts throughout most of the season, it hasn’t been until recently that most bettors believed that they would actually do it.

The Spurs have won 10 of their last 13 games and will have a chance to make a statement on Wednesday. More impressive has been the fact that the Spurs have been without Tony Parker in the lineup.

But the Lakers have won six straight games and are rounding into playoff form. They are going to be tough to stop between now and the end of the NBA Championship, and these types of games are where they usually like to come out and make a statement.

Without Parker, this will be a tall order for the Spurs. The Lakers have the depth and talent to exploit them and they are once again going to show San Antonio who is boss.
