The San Francisco Giants will look to keep their post All-Star Game streak alive when they visit the San Diego Padres on Monday in the opener of a three-game series.

The Giants (49-43) arrive in San Diego coming off a three-game sweep at Arizona and 3 1/2 games behind the Los Angeles Dodgers in the National League West.

Buster Posey continued his offensive run, going 5-for-12 with five RBIs against the Diamondbacks.

The Giants backstop also went 8-for-13 in a three-game sweep over Philadelphia before the All-Star Game. He is hitting .338 with seven home runs and 25 RBIs at Petco Park, where the G-Men dropped three of four in April before grabbing a pair of series victories at AT&T Park.

Meanwhile, San Diego (43-49) won its first two games against Colorado before Sunday’s game was rained out.

To continue its streak, San Francisco will hand the ball to Tim Hudson who will make his first start since a 8-6 loss versus Colorado on June 26.

The right-hander has been nursing some shoulder soreness that placed him on the disabled list since July 3.

The Giants will hope the move gave the 40-year-old veteran some much-needed rest, and give their rotation a solid fourth spot winner.

Hudson has gone 2-3 in his last five starts, and is 0-0 versus the Padres in one career start.

The Padres will counter with Ian Kennedy who has lost four in a row after allowing four runs on four hits and three walks while striking out two in 4.1 innings against the Rangers back on July 10.

The right-hander has been tagged for multiple homers in six of his 16 outings this season, and is struggling with control, striking out just two versus the Rangers.

Kennedy is 1-1 in three career starts against the Giants, with an ERA of 1.17.
