This will be the tale of two quarterbacks, as the situation in Oakland is more confusing than a cat emerging from the dryer, while the myriad of injuries in Arizona have forced the Cardinals to start third stringer Max Hall?

Max Hall?

You know, the guy that came in for an injured quarterback Derek Anderson while playing the Atlanta Falcons last week, throwing two passes for a total of three yards, and one interception.

To say the least, neither team impresses me, so this match up could get interesting.

The Jason Campbell experiment didn’t last long for the Raiders, as head coach Tom Cable continues to baffle the Raider Nation. The second-year interim-turned-head coach got lucky pulling Campbell and opting to go with Bruce Gradkowski, whose second half effort lifted the Raiders to a slim victory over the Rams in Week 2.

In light of Gradkowski performance, Cable has announced that Campbell’s time under center is over—all six 6 quarters—as GODkowski will get the start on Sunday when Oakland tries to win two in a row for the first time in nearly two years.

As for the Cardinals’ response to all this.

Their defensive line matches up well against the Raider’s offensive line, and they should be able to bring consistent pressure against Gradowski.

However, I think they will still struggle stopping the Raiders run game, as Oakland’s Darren McFadden, who leads the Raiders with 240 yards–the second-highest total in the NFL—could set record numbers during Sunday’s game as Arizona is giving up the second-most rushing yards in the league, with 153.0 per game.

Likewise, the Cardinals know with Anderson out and Hall directing the offense, they are also going to have to get their run game going. Running back Beanie Wells will be making his first start of the season, and paired with Tim Hightower, who leads all running backs with an average of 7.0 yards per attempt, you can expect the Cardinals to apply serious pressure on the Raiders’ run stoppers who are surrendering 140.0 yards per game.

You’re getting the picture right?

If Oakland wants to win this they will need to send pressure against Hall who has shown he doesn’t deal with pressure well. Uh yeah. Flushing the rookie out the pocket could create a repeat of last week’s under achievements, creating turnovers that Oakland must convert and will likely convert to points.

I expect this one to be close, but the Raiders will win this one on the road.
