A series that was going to be scrappy and physical lived up to those expectations in Game 1 as Cleveland stole home court advantage right off the bat. Now, with both teams dealing with injury problems, Atlanta will look to even things up in a pivotal Game 2 on Friday.

The Hawks might be in for some serious problems as they may need to figure out who will try to contain Lebron James as DeMarre Carroll remains questionable for the game.
(2) Cleveland Cavaliers
The Cavaliers stole home court advantage immediately as they pulled away in the 2nd half to secure a 97-89 win over Atlanta in Game 1. However, Kyrie Irving remained on the bench for a majority of the 2nd half, but his status remains positive for Game 2.
Irving aggravated his left knee in Game 1 and did not return as the Cavaliers went to Matthew Dellavedoa. Irving missed shootout around and was officially tabbed the “questionable” label for Game 2.

When talking to reporters though, Irving told them he would be willing to play through the discomfort.
He ended up finishing with 10 points and 6 assists in the 27 minutes he played in Game 1.
Cleveland also got another scare when Lebron James stepped on the leg of a TNT cameraman and was seen visibly limping off the court. His ankle injury, now combined with his bad back could be a lingering problem for James.
However, he didn’t looked phased down the stretch of Game 1 as he dominated and finished with 31 points, 8 rebounds, and 6 assists in the win.
(1) Atlanta Hawks
Atlanta not only lost home court advantage, but they may have lost their best player this postseason. DeMarre Carroll went down in grimacing pain in the 3rd quarter following a layup attempt and was aided to the locker room. Carroll had the duties of guarding Lebron James in Game 1.
In an MRI Thursday it was revealed he had a bruised bone and is officially questionable for Game 2.
Carroll had just 5 points and 3 rebounds, but was doing a stellar job at slowing down Lebron. Should Carroll not be able to go, Kent Bazemore will more than likely get the honors of guarding James.
While Jeff Teague played very well in Game 1, Paul Millsap and Dennis Schroder shot a combined 5 of 21 from the field. Both players will need to step up considerably if Atlanta hopes to avoid a 2-0 gap.

Kyle Korver has averaged just 5.2 points over his last 5 games.

Memphis Grizzlies vs. Golden State Warriors Preview
On the season the Grizzlies are 45-44-3 ATS and they have an O/U record of 36-53-2 and the Warriors are 50-39-1 ATS and they have an O/U record of 40-49-1.
This season the Warriors are 42-3 at home and the Grizzlies are 26-19 on the road.
In Game 4 of this 7-game series the Warriors beat the Grizzlies 101-84.
The Warriors drew even with the Grizzlies 2-2 in this series with a Game 4 win in Memphis where they offense got on track. In the Games 2 and 3 losses the Warriors were shut down by the Memphis defense, but in Game 4 they shot 47.5% from the floor.
The Warriors scored 101 points in Game 4, which is still 9 points less than their season average, but it was the Grizzlies’ offense that really struggled only scoring 84 points on 37.5% shooting.
Stephen Curry led the way in Game 4 scoring 33 points and he hit 4 of his 9 3-pointers. It was shown in Games 2 and 3 that if the Griz can keep him from having big games and especially keep him from hitting the long 3 that the Warriors can be beat.
Marc Gasol was only 7/19 from the field in Game 4 and PG Mike Conley was only 4/15 from the field. Zach Randolph had a solid shooting night, but only took 10 shots hitting 5 of them for 10 points. He and Gasol have to shoot the rock well tonight, but the big key is the Memphis defense.
The Grizzlies are not a high scoring team and they have to keep the score down to win, which they did in Games 2 and 3. Golden State committed 21 turnovers in Game 4 and were outscored on the fast break, but they still won the game by 17 points.
Draymond Green opened up the floor for Curry in Game 4 going for 16 points and 10 rebounds after only going for 6 points in Game 3. His floor spacing is key and he needs to have another solid night.

The Atlanta Hawks have been riding a roller coaster of emotions this post season. They’ve shown signs of pure dominance, but have also been exposed many times. Game Four was one of those dominating performances as they regained home court advantage and now look to take control of the series for the first time when they welcome in the Washington Wizards for Game Five.

Washington Wizards
The Wizards have been one of the most pesky teams in the NBA Playoffs thus far. They’ll be facing adversity for the first time this postseason as they look to avoid going down 3-2 to the Hawks following their Game Four home loss. Washington had a chance to seize control of the series, but could not get some key defensive stops down the stretch.
Paul Pierce did have a chance to tie the game with the clock winding down, but his shot fell short as he begged for a foul. Pierce finished the game with 22 points.
Bradley Beal showed his toughness as he stepped up for the injured John Wall as he scored a playoff career high of 34 points and dished out 7 assists.
After it was reported that John Wall would miss the entire series, he was shockingly upgraded to questionable for Wednesday’s Game Five contest. Getting Wall back could be just the boost the Wizards need to avoid going down for the first time in the postseason.
Wall has seen the swelling go down in his injured hand and will test it out in shoot around on Wednesday morning, then be examined by doctors before making a final decision on his status.
Atlanta Hawks
Paul Millsap came up clutch as he was back at 100% for Game 4 after he battled the flu in Game Three as he dropped in 18 points in the win. He’ll look to have a repeat performance in Game Five as Atlanta tries to control home court advantage and take a 3-2 series lead.
Al Horford also had a bounce back game as he went for 18 and 10 in the Game 4 win. Horford has been the major key for Atlanta this series as he’s played exceptionally well in both of their wins. In Game 2, he went for 18 points, 6 assists, and 4 rebounds.
As a team, Atlanta had 30 assists on 41 made field goals Monday. Their plan of attack seemed to be drive to the bucket, kick it out and drill 3 pointers.
PG Jeff Teague had his best post season performance going for 26 points and 8 assists. If John Wall returns for Game 5, he’ll have to step up his defensive play as he will have the duties of guarding him.
Kyle Korver will hope to get himself going as well as he’s struggled the past two games scoring just 6 points in each game.
