The Washington Wizards are one of the most frustrating teams in the league. There is talent on this team for sure but every time they look to be putting it all together they stumble, most recent case, they have won just 2 of their last 7 after getting to .500 a couple of weeks back.
The Colts win over the Chiefs last week was one of the most exciting playoff games I can recall. Their reward is a trip to Foxboro to try and tame a Patriots team that seems to surprise when it loses though I am not really sure how it wins.
San Francisco may very well be the best Wild Card team ever but if they are going to make it back to the Super Bowl they will have to beat Carolina, something they couldn’t get done in the regular season.
The Wildcats are feeling good entering SEC play using that win against Louisville as a springboard to conference play.
This is the second game of back to backs on the road for Miami so maybe the Nets are catching them at a good time. The Heat are cozy atop the Southeast standings and have closed the gap on Indiana atop the Eastern standings.
For a while there it was looking like the Celtics were going to be a lot better than expected but they have lost their last 5 games and and some of them have been pretty ugly.
The Hurricanes had the pleasure of being the first ACC opponent for Syracuse and left the Carrier Dome with a loss but a respectable showing against the unbeaten Orange.
This is the final BCS Championship Game. It might not be the matchup we thought we were getting for most of the season but it features an undefeated Heisman winner against a team from the SEC so we can’t be too shocked.
The Magic are not a good team. They have lost their last three games and have won only three of their last 10.
The Blue Devils are looking good and are probably getting better. They have won 5 straight but this is their first true road game of the season, which I think it significant given that their top player is a freshman.
The Chargers were the last team to qualify in the AFC and are now travelling most of the way across the country to face Cincinnati.
The Gaels vs. the Zags defines WCC basketball so the fact that we are getting this first matchup so early is very interesting.
Brooklyn is hoping the New Year will bring new luck but that seems unlikely as they are still on their road trip of death, playing the league’s best teams in Indiana, San Antonio and now Oklahoma City.
These two teams played just a few weeks ago with Indianapolis getting a solid victory over a Chiefs team that is not the juggernaut we saw over the first half of the season.
This is a matchup I am looking forward to with Missouri facing a former B12 conference mate in the Oklahoma State Cowboys.
