The first week of Super Bowl hype was actually buffeted by the Pro Bowl which was played on Sunday night, but as we head in to week two it will now start up in full force. The Indianapolis Colts are trying to win their second Super Bowl in four years, while the New Orleans Saints are making their first trip to the Championship game in franchise history.

The 2010 College Senior Bowl will be played this Saturday, January 30th with kickoff scheduled for 4:00 P.M at Ladds-Peebles Stadium in Mobile, Alabama. This game pits the best college seniors from the North against those from the South.
The 2010 NFL Pro Bowl will be played this Sunday night, January 31st in Dolphins Stadium, the site of Super Bowl XLIV, which will be played between Indianapolis and New Orleans the following week, Sunday February 7th.
The totals bet for Sunday’s NFL conference title games came down to whether the stingy defenses would rule the day, or the high powered offenses would run wild. In both games we actually had a little of both. In the end though the points finally started to add up and both games went over their total.
The NFL’s final two teams in each conference square off against one another this Sunday with a trip to Super Bowl XLIV on the line. There are solid reasons why each team has a chance to win, but it is often the intangibles that determine the actual outcome.
The NFL divisional round of the playoffs went pretty much the same way as the wildcard round, three blowouts and once close finish. The main difference with this round is that three out of four favorites ; New Orleans, Indianapolis , and Minnesota won both straight up and against the spread, while one underdog; New York pulled off the upset both ATS and straight up.
Offense may have led the way in the wildcard round of the NFL playoffs, but defense took center stage in the divisional round. Three out of the four games stayed under the total as the losing teams combined for a total of 34 points. Just like last week, the first three games of the weekend were never really close and final game’s outcome was not decided until the final minutes of the fourth quarter.
The smoke has cleared from the wildcard round of the playoffs and one favorite; Dallas and three underdogs; New York, Baltimore, and Arizona are moving on to the divisional round to face the top four seeds in the league.
Only one game was really wild during wildcard weekend as the other three were never really close. Dallas was the only favorite to win last week and along with two road dogs; New York and Baltimore and one home dog; Arizona they are all advancing to the next round.
There was no shortage of offense this past weekend as all four wildcard playoff games went over their total. While the first three games were one sided victories, the final game between Green Bay and Arizona was not only a thriller that has to be already considered an instant classic; it set the record for most points ever scored in a postseason game.
After 512 regular season games the playoff field of 12 teams has been set. The top four teams get a chance to sit back and watch this week as the other eight will fight for the right to move on.
