We’ve shed four NFL teams on our path to the Super Bowl. Only eight remain, and we’ll see all eight this weekend in the Divisional Round. The four home teams are all favored, having earned themselves the week off while the four visitors played in the Wild-Card Round. The week off is a major advantage, but over the last two seasons, home teams are 4-4 SU and 1-7 ATS during the Divisionals.
There’s no getting around it – football season is almost over. That means the end of betting season for a number of players, but why close up shop now? There is money out there to be made, and over the next four months the basketball court is the best place to get paid.

Hard to believe that we’ve already burned through another year of college football. But it isn’t quite over yet. The last two games include the GMAC Bowl, which didn’t quite make our list of the Top 5 betting games of the week, and the BCS Championship Game, which most certainly did. Let’s get right to it – all times listed are Eastern, and as usual, the freshest betting odds are available at Bodog Sportsbook.
The Divisional Playoffs begin this Saturday and all four home-favorite games are pretty evenly split among early bettors.
In Saturday’s games, 52% like Tennessee giving three points to Baltimore, and 43% like Carolina giving 10 points to Arizona.
On Sunday, 59% like the NY Giants giving four-points to Philly and 36% like Pittsburgh giving six points to San Diego.
The BCS Championship game between Florida and Oklahoma has so many props, that it almost feels like the Super Bowl.

The GMAC Bowl between Tulsa and Ball State is the last chance to bet on college football except for Thursday’s BCS Title game.
Tulsa has moved from 2.5-point underdogs to three-point favorites at Sportsbook.com. The game will be on ESPN at 8 pm ET.
This was almost the fourth matchup of conference champions during the bowl season, but Tulsa and Ball State both lost in their championship games.
The Villanova Wildcats (12-2 SU, 5-5 ATS, 2-8 O/U) are coming off a disheartening 79-72 New Year’s Day road loss to Marquette in their conference opener in which they failed to cover the spread for BetUS NCAAB sports betting backers as a 3-point underdog in the BetUS Sportsbook. The Seton Hall Pirates (9-5 SU, 4-5 ATS, 4-4 O/U) were absolutely obliterated in their 92-66 homes loss to West Virginia on Saturday, failing to cover the spread as 3-point home underdogs.
The Baltimore Ravens (12-5 SU, 13-4 ATS, 9-7-1 O/U) flexed their powerful defensive muscles at the Miami Dolphins’ expense last week, beating the Fish 27-9 to cover the spread as a 3.5-point favorite in the BetUS Sportsbook despite playing on the road. The Tennessee Titans (13-3 SU, 12-4 ATS, 8-8 O/U) lost their final regular season game back on Dec. 28, falling to the now-dispatched Indianapolis Colts in a meaningless contest.
The New York Knicks (13-19 SU, 17-15 ATS, 14-18 O/U) have won two of three and are coming off a convincing 100-88 win over the Boston Celtics on Sunday. The Oklahoma City Thunder (4-30 SU, 21-13 ATS, 17-17 O/U) lost a heart-breaker the last time they took the floor but are competing hard despite the mounting losses.
The Houston Rockets (21-14 SU, 16-19 ATS, 20-15 O/U) have dropped two straight games and five of their last seven overall including a close, 103-100 loss to the Atlanta Hawks on Saturday. Houston did manage to cover the spread for BetUS NBA sports betting backers as a 5.5-point road underdog in the BetUS Sportsbook.
The Washington Wizards (7-25 SU, 14-18 ATS, 13-18-1 O/U) snapped its modest two-game losing streak on Sunday, surprising the Cleveland Cavaliers in their 80-77 victory while easily covering the spread as a 9-point home underdog in the BetUS Sportsbook. The Orlando Magic (26-9 SU, 22-11-1 ATS, 15-19 O/U) saw its two-game winning streak come to an abrupt halt in their 108-102 loss to the Toronto Raptors on Sunday. The Magi failed to cover the spread as a 7.5-point road favorite just as I predicted in my weekly NBA Sunday 4X4 in the BetUS Locker Room.
The Boston Celtics (29-6 SU, 19-16 ATS, 15-19-1 O/U) have gone from the longest winning streak in franchise history to their biggest struggles since combining their new ‘Big Three’ last season. Losers of four of their last six games overall, the struggling Celtics will look to bounce back when they visit the similarly struggling Charlotte Bobcats (12-22 SU, 19-15 ATS, 13-20-1 O/U) at Time Warner Cable Arena tonight.
The high-scoring Arizona Cardinals (10-7 SU, 10-7 ATS, 12-5 O/U) advanced to their NFL divisional showdown this Saturday by beating the entertaining Atlanta Falcons 30-24 in last week’s NFC wildcard matchup. Their prize is a date with the stingy Carolina Panthers (12-4 SU, 9-6-1 ATS, 8-8 O/U) a team they lost to 27-23 in Week 8 back on Oct. 26.
Two non-BCS conference teams that had dreams of going undefeated with a possible BCS bowl bid will meet in the GMAC Bowl tonight when the Ball State Cardinals (12-1 SU, 8-3-1 ATS) meet the Tulsa Golden Hurricane (10-3 SU, 7-5 ATS). Ball State is playing its first game since their crushing 42-24 MAC Championship loss to Buffalo despite the NCAA odds listing the Cardinals as lofty 15-point favorites.
The long bowl schedule finally comes to an end Thursday night as the college football betting season concludes with the BCS Championship Game between Oklahoma and Florida.
This could be a high-scoring affair with two of the top offenses in college football squaring off. Oklahoma was the highest-scoring team in the nation this season, averaging a whopping 54 points per game, while Florida was third overall, averaging 45.2 points per game. It’s no wonder the total for the championship was set high at 70 on the college football odds.
This is the one we’ve all been waiting for, and together we’ll watch Florida (12-1 SU, 10-2 ATS) play Oklahoma (12-1 SU, 10-2 ATS) for the first time on Jan. 8, as the 2007 Heisman Trophy winner Tim Tebow faces 2008 winner Sam Bradford.
