The Chicago Blackhawks look to capture their third Stanley Cup championship in six years and first on their home ice since 1938 when they play the Tampa Bay Lightning in Game 6 on Monday night – it should be a good one!

The Chicago Blackhawks have ridden their experience and depth to a clinching game in the Cup Final – as cliché as it sounds and are 9-0 in Game 6 with a chance to clinch a postseason series under coach Joel Quenneville.

The oddsmakers are leaning heavily Chicago’s but I’m sure the Tampa Bay Lightning will have something to say about that.

Every bit of momentum that the Lightning had is gone – after leading 2-1 in the series the Lightning scored one goal in Game 4 and one goal in Game 5 – not good enough!

The scoring chances have been there and they have been in every game so far – lackluster finish around the net and an opponent that won’t let them off the hook stares them down in Game 6 at the Madhouse on Madison.

Things went from bad to worse offensively in an awful hurry for the Tampa Bay Lightning Saturday night in Game 5 of the Final when Nikita Kucherov went out of the game – breaking up the Triplets line.

Kucherov has been a point-per-game producer so far in the playoffs – a potential loss of his services could loom large again in Game 6 – his availability is still unknown.

That leaves Steven Stamkos to finally step up – right? Wrong – Stamkos hasn’t scored in seven games and looked out of place at times for Tampa Saturday night. This is an offense that has two combined goals in two games and looks snake bitten. Confidence is a funny thing.

Ben Bishop should play Monday night although nothing has been confirmed. The Lightning have no worries in goal – Bishop has looked good and Andrei Vasilevskiy looked OK. Simply put – Tampa’s offense is going to have to step up whoever starts – one goal isn’t going to get it done Monday night.

Joel Quenville just keeps pushing the right buttons for the Chicago Blackhawks.

Three players that have each been declared healthy scratches during this Final – Kris Versteeg, Teuvo Teravainen and Antoine Vermette all registered a point on the game-winning goal!

One would think that the Chicago Blackhawks, with a good third line should be unstoppable. That is until you look at Patrick Kane’s stats – one assist in the five games and Jonathan Toews who has looked better in the last two games but has struggled to find any room.

The Blackhawks came into the series with a decidedly deeper bench – after the grind of a long season and a grueling playoff run, Chicago’s recipe may just bring them the Cup. They are absolutely solid up and down their lineup and the top 4 defensemen have been superb as one would expect.

Any worries about Corey Crawford can be put to bed. Crawford was stellar once again on Saturday night and has allowed just a goal per game in the last two. It seems that the more pressure on this guy, the better he is.

Pressure is what Crawford will get in Game 6 on home ice!

NHL Gambling Trends

• Over is 20-6-2 in TB last 28 Mon. games.
• CHI are 11-4 in their last 15 Mon. games.
• CHI are 94-42 in their last 136 home games.
• CHI are 15-7 in their last 22 vs. Atlantic.
• TB are 4-9 in the last 13 meetings in Chicago.

Credit the Chicago Blackhawks for pushing the right buttons at the right time in this series. A razor close series relies on small adjustments and tiny advantages.
