That won’t be easy however – the Flames have won 11 of their last 15 games and proved in a come-from-behind win against Boston on Monday night that they are never, ever out of a game.

The Minnesota Wild have been one of the best teams in the NHL the last three weeks – they are 8-1-2 in their last 11 games and may have deserved a better fate in Vancouver on Monday night.

Although Minnesota’s offense has seen an uptick in production the last month, the Wild can thank Devan Dubnyk for their turnaround. He started his tenure in Minnesota in incredible fashion – he went 7-1-0 with a 1.31 GAA and four shutouts in his first nine games and has been good, not great since. Dubnyk is 3-1-1 in his last five with a 2.38 GAA but has allowed a total of six goals in his last two starts.

The good news is that Dubnyk is 5-1-2 with a 1.72 GAA in his last eight starts against Calgary.

Minnesota’s offense has been OK lately – they are averaging 2.73 goals per game this year and have been getting contributions from almost everyone in the lineup as of late. Thomas Vanek and Jordan Schroeder have three points in two games, Jared Spurgeon, Nino Niedereiter and Justin Fontaine each have two points in two games, Zach Parise has 12 points in 14 games and Ryan Suter has four points in four games.

Everyone seems to be getting in on the action as of late – some more production from Mikko Koivu and Jason Pominville would be nice however!

The Calgary Flames continue to be the biggest surprise of this NHL season. Erasing a two goal deficit in the third period Monday night with 2 seconds left and eventually scoring the OT win against Boston is just another chapter in what has been a storybook season for the Flames. Calgary now has 10 wins after trailing after two periods – they are never, ever out of a game.

Offensively the Flames have been good – they average 2.86 goals per game and are getting contributions up and down the lineup lately. Juri Hudler scored twice Monday night and now has four points in two games, Mark Giordano has three points in two games, David Jones has five points in four games, and Dennis Wideman and Johnny Gaudreau each have four points in their last four games.

Calgary is surprisingly deep and dangerous up front – very difficult to defend.

Jonas Hiller has already been named starter for Calgary on Wednesday night. He has been terrific lately for the Flames and is 2-1-0 in his last three starts overall with a 2.38 GAA and .933 save percentage.

Hiller was fantastic against the Wild last month, making 31 saves in the losing effort.

The Wild are 5-1-1 in the last seven meetings overall and although the Flames are awfully tough to bet against right now, I think the Wild maintain their dominance of their Division rival.

The Wild have lost just once in regulation in their last 11 games – I don’t expect a second on Wednesday night.

Minnesota Wild -110
