Tennessee absolutely whipped Miami two weeks ago before their bye week.  Not that they needed it, but they have had two weeks to prepare for the League’s weakest team.

Tennessee

The season is pretty much lost for Tennessee but they might be able to rise to a .500 record if they win the games they are supposed to down the stretch.

Given how things started that would be some form of accomplishment.

Running back Chris Johnson seems to finally be on track with 5 straight games of 91 or more yards including 3 with 126 or better.  The Titans have won three of those games as the pressure has been off the not so dynamic duo at quarterback of Jake Locker and Matt Hasselbeck.

They seem to not be able to make up their mind whether they want to try and compete now or develop for the future which is doing handicappers no favours.

Tennessee is 4-6 ATS this season too.  This is just the second time all season they have been the favourite and they lost the other time. [soliloquy id=”82219″]

This week feels more like a sure victory based on the opponent, some extra rest and preparation and the fact they are catching Jacksonville at the exact right moment.

Jacksonville

When your season is over a month in you start to look for different signs that your team hasn’t just up and quit.

Last week the Jags lost to the Texans in double overtime and nearly stole it in regulation.  Not bad considering they were 15 point underdogs.  It was a great win for backers but another crushing blow for the players and coaches.

It is easy to see them coming out flat as a result this week.

With QB Blaine Gabbert on the sidelines injured Chad Henne took over and had a very productive game with 354 yards and 4 TDs.

Sadly that is a month’s work of production for Gabbert.  He was also able to get top pick receiver Justin Blackmon going.  Blackmon had a monster game with 236 yards, that is just a shade below what he had put up in weeks 1 through 10 combined.

Henne gave this team some life which was nice to see.

If you like to blindly bet home underdogs this is a good situation because Tennessee can easily backslide into another confounding loss.

They lost last week but maybe Blackmon and Henne can keep the energy up for a team looking for reasons to play hard.

On the flip side, I think it may be a stay away because I am not sure I want to trust either of these teams with my hard earned money.
