Records in preseason mean little when it comes down to it, so don’t look too close into the fact that Seattle has started 0-2 while the Chargers are 2-0.

Seattle

Last week, Russell Wilson went 9-for-15 tossing in an underwhelming performance. Like the overall team record, don’t read too much into this.

We should see an improved performance in Week 3 versus the Chargers.

So far this preseason, the biggest elephant in the room is the offensive line. Russell’s performance could have been sharper, but his protection was a big reason why.

Another storyline has been the quiet showing from the tailbacks. The obvious reason for this is because Marshawn Lynch hasn’t seen a single play. That’s really the reason this is a storyline.

But Seattle needs to see at least one strong showing in the backfield before the regular season, as you just never know who is going to need to step up throughout the regular season.

Seattle is 4-0 ATS in preseason Week 3 over the past four years.

San Diego

The Chargers are 2-0 at this point in the preseason schedule, but they’ve been outgained in both of those contests.

Unfortunately for San Diego, it’s going up against a Seattle defense that is getting some pieces back, including Richard Sherman.

Expect Phillip Rivers to get some extra snaps entering the second half of the preseason, which should certainly give San Diego a slight edge despite the spread currently in Seattle’s favor. Home-field advantage should play a decent role as well.

The problem is that Seattle is also using this as a revenge game from last season, which doesn’t bode well for the Chargers when you also look at the fact that Seattle is looking to gain a little momentum as the preseason begins to wrap up with regular-season play right around the corner.

NFL Football Betting Trends:

Seahawks are 6-2-1 ATS in their last 9 games overall.
Seahawks are 15-6 ATS in their last 21 road games.
Seahawks are 10-4 ATS in their last 14 games on grass.
Chargers are 2-6 ATS in their last 8 Saturday games.
Chargers are 2-9 ATS in their last 11 games overall.
Chargers are 1-9 ATS in their last 10 games on grass.
Chargers are 0-5 ATS in their last 5 home games.

4* NFL Betting Pick: Seattle 1.5

NFLX 0-2 road teams are 19-4 ATS in their last 23 overall when entering Week 3 as a 1.5-point favorite or lower. That fits in nicely with Seattle at this point in the process, so we’ll trust the combination of a talented roster and a historical trend in their favor.
