Even with this being a preseason affair, the Jets and Giants meet Saturday night in what is deemed the “MetLife Bowl”.
Both teams come in with a 1-1 record this season, but it’s the Jets who have more questions to answer over these next two games than the Giants.

With this being the 3rd postseason game for both teams, the starters are expected to get at least 2 quarters of action tonight. That might be just what Jets QB Ryan Fitzpatrick needs as he’s struggled early on in the preseason.
Fitzpatrick was basically thrown into the gauntlet following the Geno Smith drama. With that all finally pass the Jets, they have the chance to move forward as they prepare for their season opener with the Browns.
The Giants on the other hand have nothing to do deal with except getting Eli Manning and his troops healthy and well prepared for the season.

New York Jets
The Jets have been an absolute mess in the past couple seasons. After letting Rex Ryan go, they thought they were going to be starting a new chapter in the organization.

Then Geno Smith, the expected starter, got punched during a practice and New York was right back where they were.
Now QB Ryan Fitzpatrick is given the nod and Jets fans are starting to really question whether or not he is the guy for the job. Saturday will be a big game for Fitzpatrick and his fellow first teamers as they will get a majority of the first half.
They haven’t produced many touchdowns in their first two games, but have put together a couple solid drives. Still, field goals won’t do it as that has been the problem for the Jets in the past seasons.
RB Chris Ivory should get more time too as he will likely be the Jets #1 RB. Ivory has had a strong preseason and is playing with a bit of a chip on his shoulder as Chan Gailey is giving him a run for his job.
New York Giants
The Giants haven’t given QB Eli Manning much playing time this preseason, but still the elite QB isn’t concerned about what his first team offense has done in just little playing time.
Manning has completed only 8 of his 22 attempted passes and will use this game with his extended playing time to get himself into a rhythm.
He told reporters he wants to see his offense get some sync and put a couple touchdowns on the board. It’ll help if he can find Odell Beckham Jr, who has zero catches this preseason.

Manning will be without one of his other main targets, WR Victor Cruz, who continues to battle a calf strain.
The Giants defeated the Jets last time these two teams met in the regular season 35-24.
They trail the preseason head-to-head 24-21.
