Season Win Totals NFL Predictions – Tennessee Titans 2014 Lines

Titans Over / Under Season Wins

The Tennessee Titans enter the 2014 season a little under the radar – they went 7-9 last season with a backup quarterback and a running back that didn’t seem to care.

Over Under Lines

  • Over 7 Wins (-130)
  • Under 7 Wins (even)

The Titans bid adieu to Chris Johnson but welcome quarterback Jake Locker back after yet another injury lost season.

For Tennessee they just have to keep getting outstanding production from their defense and hope that the offense can do enough. Could Tennessee be the surprise team of the AFC this year – they play the second easiest schedule in the NFL and will get to play the Texans and the Jaguars twice.

The Titans started last season in decent form – a 4-3 record before Jake Locker went down. In the nine games Locker was out the team went 3-6. Tennessee went out in the offseason to make sure Locker is protected – Michael Oher was added and they Bucs picked Taylor Lewan in the draft.

That said Locker will have an average group of receivers to throw to – not many of them are destined to make him look good. Nate Washington and Kendall Wright don’t exactly strike fear in opposing defenses!

But slightly above average is good enough if the defense does its job – just ask the Seattle Seahawks!

The Tennessee Titans running game is the biggest mystery coming into the season – the face of the offense, Chris Johnson is gone leaving a huge void.

The lead running back role will apparently filled by Shonne Greene – unflattering to say the least, but look out for second round pick Bishop Sankey – he looks like the real deal and should get a fair amount of chances in Tennessee.

Tennessee enter the season with a pretty good idea of what they want to do on defense – this unit was solid last year and although they will switch to a 3-4 defense they have the athletic guys that can get it done.

The defense will be the key – with the young and athletic players on this squad, I Like this unit to be top third in the NFL this upcoming season.

Titans Betting Prediction: OVER 7

Simply put – Tennessee should be a well rounded team heading into 2014. Jake Locker himself is worth a couple of more wins on the season – that takes the Titans to 9-7 or better. Tennessee is a sneaky contender that should absolutely challenge for a playoff spot.

A .500 season would be a major disappointment for the Titans this year. Bet the Over – 7 Wins.
