The addition of Lovie Smith will likely be the biggest difference for any team entering the 20124 season. From task-master Greg Schiano to players coach Lovie, the culture should be a lot different in Tampa – and that is a good thing. Smith brings with him a tremendous reputation of harboring talent and taking his team to the playoffs.
He is well respected, he is experienced and he has been to a Super Bowl in the past.

Josh McCown also brings experience to the team – a whole lot more than incumbent QB Mike Glennon. McCown was terrific in relief of Jay Cutler in Chicago last season – he threw 13 TDs to just one interception in eight games last year and completed a very good 66.5% of his passes.
McCown is a major upgrade at QB – Vincent Jackson will certainly be happy to have him in town and first round draft choice Mike Evans, at 6`5“ is a nice piece – reminiscent of McCown`s favorite target last year – Brandon Marshall!

As mentioned Doug Martin will return to full health after missing 10 games. His vision and athleticism was sorely missed last year. It forced the Bucs to platoon a number of average running backs.
Defense was a strength of Tampa Bay last year – no reason to think they won`t elevate their play this year with the offense finally doing their part. This unit ranked just 17th in yards allowed last year but were on the field far too much thanks to the Bucs` sketchy offense.
The addition of veteran pass rusher Michael Johnson to a young corp. will also help immensely. The task for Tampa`s defense will be to hold their team in games and hope an improved offense does the rest.
Bucs 2014 Betting Prediction: 7 Wins
The Tampa Bay Buccaneers will have an easy schedule this year – one of the top third easiest slates in the NFL. Winnable games and the addition of a terrific coach are worth five wins all by itself.
It doesn`t hurt that the Bucs have a proven QB leading the charge.
