Miami vs Pittsburgh NFL Football Spread/Handicapping
These teams were opposites last week. The Pittsburgh Steelers took a hit with their loss to Baltimore while Miami put themselves in good position with a victory over the New York Jets.
I don’t expect a great game but it is important.

This is another road tilt for the Dolphins in a harsh climate so hopefully they are ready for the challenge.

Things will be a little more difficult this time around because they won’t have a rookie quarterback to harass.
Miami
The Dolphins have an excellent chance to make the playoffs after their win last week against the Jets. Of their final four opponents only one has a winning record (New England) and last week’s win on the road at New York should hopefully prove to themselves that they are capable of winning important games.
Despite that this is still a flawed team: I have never liked their quarterback – Ryan Tannehill; their running game is not all that special and they don’t always take care of business at home (just 3-3).

The key in this one will be jumping on Pittsburgh early. If they can deliver a knockout blow in the first half that would be ideal because the longer you let the Steelers hang around the more dangerous they are – see their near upset of Baltimore last week. They need to come out aggressive and take the fight to them so to speak.
Pittsburgh
Pittsburgh nearly pulled it off last weekend, narrowly losing a game to the rival Ravens in a game that both teams just had to have. After that physical affair this one may seem like a walk in the park, but this Pittsburgh team is far from stacked so they better not be taking anyone lightly.
Not helping matters is the fact that running back Le’Veon Bell is questionable at the moment. No pun intended, he got his bell rung late in the game against Baltimore which is a shame because it was his running the ball that was reminding us what Pittsburgh is all about. If QB Ben Roethlisberger is going to have to do it all in the passing game that is going to be challenge because the Dolphins have a couple of good edge rushers in Olivier Vernon and Cameron Wake that you don’t want to be one dimensional against. The Miami defense is solid so the key is going to be getting enough out of the running game to keep them honest.
The home crowd will be at full throat as the Steelers make their final playoff stand. That and the weather just might be enough.
