NFL Betting – Week 11 Picks

Week 10 was a good one! 4-0-0 has continued a pretty good three week run in which I have gone 9-3 ATS. Will my roll shy me away from the Big Games in Week 11? Heck no – I love the marquee matchups and so should you.

So, without further adieu, let’s keep the roll going with the Cappers Picks Weekly Handicapping Preview – Week 11.

WEEK 10 ATS PICKS RECORD: 4-0-0
SEASON ATS PICKS RECORD: 26-17-1

Dallas at Washington

Sunday, November 20, 1:00 PM ET
NFL Betting Favorite: Dallas -9

The Dallas Cowboys are playing their best football of the season – 2 straight wins culminating in an impressive 44-7 beat down of the Buffalo Bills has the oddsmakers impressed! The Washington Redskins on the other hand are reeling – 5 straight losses culminating in a 20-9 loss to the lowly Dolphins has oddsmakers wary that this team can rebound.

Dallas, despite starting the season slowly looks like a team that could emerge out of the muddled and disappointing NFC East. DeMarco Murray has been a revelation and has made his whole team a notch or two better. Rob Ryan and the defense is starting to turn the corner as well. Washington, on the other hand is in a tailspin. Who is the quarterback – Grossman or Beck? Who is the running back – Helu or Choice? The Skins are a mess with no real sense of optimism going forward.

Dallas is a team that has been bad against the spread as of late. They are 4-7-1 ATS in their last 12 games overall, 2-3-1 ATS in their last six road games 1-4 ATS in their last five games against Washington, and 2-4 ATS in their last six trips to the Nation’s Capitol. Washington has been no better!

The NFC East teams always play each other tight – I can’t understand the huge point spread in this game. Washington lives to beat Dallas and vice versa. Although I think Dallas is the better team and that they will emerge victorious on Sunday, 9 points is just too rich for me. Washington is bad but they find a way to get up for their heated rivals.

Pick: Washington Redskins to cover the 9 points.

Cincinnati at Baltimore

Sunday, November 20, 1:00 PM ET
NFL Betting Favorite: Baltimore -7

How bad did the Baltimore Ravens look in Seattle last week? As brutal as they did against Tennessee after they beat the Steelers the first time. It is clear that the Ravens are prone to letdowns a game after they play against Pittsburgh. It is also clear that they tend to bounce back in a big way after losing miserably. This week, Baltimore takes on the upstart Cincinnati Bengals, a team with the same record as Baltimore but one that couldn’t do what the Ravens have done twice already this season – beat the Steelers!

Cincinnati has gotten it done with a fairly well balanced team this season – the offense and defense have overachieved to some extent. Cincinnati’s defense has been solid both against the run and the pass. Andy Dalton is playing beyond his years in guiding his team and in limiting his mistakes.

The Ravens have been as inconsistent a team as there has been in the NFL this season – so good one game and so bad the next. Baltimore has been all about defense this year – the offense is middle of the pack in most statistical categories. But what this team has that Cincinnati doesn’t is veteran leadership in the locker room – Ray Lewis on defense and Anquan Boldin/ Ray Rice on offense. There is no way that these players will allow the Ravens to look past the Bengals – Baltimore simply doesn’t have two bad weeks in a row!

Cincinnati has had all sorts of trouble when travelling to Baltimore 6-15 and 6-14 ATS in their last 20 meetings. However, the Bengals are 9-4 SU in the last 13 against the Ravens. More recent meetings suggest that the Bengals have closed the gap a little – Cincinnati is 4-1 ATS in their last five games against Baltimore and is 5-2 ATS in the last seven in Maryland.

Both of these teams are fighting for the AFC North crown and both should be motivated ahead of Sunday’s game. But bet on the Ravens being the more fired up team! A bad loss is always followed by a convincing win for the Ravens – don’t expect that to change. Cincinnati has been good this season but proved last week that they don’t quite measure up against the Big Boys. [soliloquy id=”82219″]

Pick: Baltimore Ravens -7

San Diego at Chicago

Sunday, November 20, 4:15 PM ET
NFL Betting Favorite: Chicago -3 ½

Well, it is clear who the better team is going into Sunday’ matchup between the San Diego Chargers and the Chicago Bears. The Chargers enter the game on a four game losing streak while the Bears have won four straight! One streak will end Sunday.

Ugh! The Chargers look dead to me. Offensively and defensively this team has underachieved in every sense of the word. The Bears are twice the Oakland offense that beat the Chargers down last week and they are three times the defense.

Pick: Chicago Bears -3 ½

Philadelphia at NY Giants

Sunday, November 20, 8:20 PM ET
NFL Betting Favorite: NY Giants -3 ½

It is hard to like the Philadelphia Eagles at the moment. They are 2-6 SU and ATS in their last eight games and there is a chance that Michael Vick may not play this week which seriously hurts their chances. That means Vince Young and a pissy-mood DeSean Jackson to carry the load – Jeremy Maclin was also banged up in Week 10. The defense hasn’t been playing all that well this season – disappointing to say the least.

The New York Giants played well in San Francisco last week but couldn’t stop the 49er train. The Giants are healthy going into this game – something that has been far too rare for this team on offense and defense.

The Giants are 1-6 SU and ATS in their last seven games against the Eagles – expect that to change.

Pick: New York Giants -3 ½
