Pittsburgh Steelers vs. New York Jets Preview

On the season the Steelers are 5-4 ATS and they have an O/U record of 6-3 and the Jets are 1-7-1 ATS and they have an Under record of 5-4.

This season the Jets are 1-4 at home and the Steelers are 2-2 on the road.

In their last games the Steelers beat the Baltimore Ravens 43-23 and the Jets lost to the Kansas City Chiefs 24-10.

The Jets are reeling losers of 7 straight games and their QB situation is a mess. They are at home, but are still 4.5-point betting underdogs facing a hot Steelers’ team.

The Steelers have won 3 straight and 4 of their last 5 games and they are in 2nd place in the AFC North. Their offense has been on fore averaging 41 ppg in their last 3 games and QB Ben Roethlisberger has been putting up great numbers.

Michael Vick got his first start for the Jets last week and while not having a bad game he did not have a great one. The Jets rank dead last in the NFL in passing yards per game and one good thing is that newcomer Percy Harvin had 129 receiving yards last in the loss to the Chiefs.

The Jets did have a good rushing game in the Kansas City loss with 139 yards on the ground Chris Johnson set the pace in the game with 69 rushing yards and if they can run the ball it will take a ton of pressure off Vick, who should get the start under center.

Overall the Pittsburgh defense ranks 19th against the pass and 11th against the run.  While they gave up 269 passing yards against the Ravens they did have 2 picks and they stuffed the run holding Baltimore to under 70 rushing yards.

Big Ben set an NFL record in the Ravens game throwing for 6 TD, which gave him 12 in the last 2 games. In his last 3 games he has 14 TD and he has not been picked off one time. His main target is Antonio Brown, who leads the league in receiving yards and the Jets not only rank 7th in the league in pass defense, but they also rank 5th in sacks.

Le’Veon Bell ranks 3rd in the league in rushing yards, but he struggled in the win over Baltimore and has not rushed for over 100 yards since week 3. The Jets rank 12th in the league in run defense and in the loss to the Chiefs they gave up 113 rushing yards.

4* Cappers NFL Free Pick

The Steelers are on fire and I think Big Ben will have another good game and Pittsburgh will win, and cover, and send the Jets to their 8th straight loss.
