Houston Texans vs. Jacksonville Jaguars Preview

On the season the Texans are 7-5 ATS and they have an O/U record of 7-5 and the Jaguars are 3-8-1 ATS and they have an Under record of 7-5.

This season the Jaguars are 2-4 at home and the Texans are 3-3 on the road.

In their last games the Jaguars beat the New York Giants 25-24 and the Texans beat the Tennessee Titans 45-21.

The Texans are still in the playoff picture at 6-6, but they need a strong finish. While they do face the Jags twice they also have to play AFC South leader Indianapolis and well as Baltimore. Still, even on the road this Sunday they are the betting favorite facing the 2-win Jaguars.

The Jaguars are coming off a rare win, which snapped their 4-game losing streak.

While the rushing led by Adrian Peterson is the strength of the Houston offense in the win over Tennessee QB Ryan Fitzpatrick lit up the Titans for a franchise record 6 TD.

[dfads params=’groups=66501&limit=1&return_javascript=0′]

He passed for 358 yards in the game with 0 INT and DeAndre Hopkins had a HUGE game with 238 receiving yards with 2 TD.

Foster rushed for 79 yards in the win over the Titans and he ranks 6th in the league in rushing yards.

The Jacksonville defense has had big-time issues all season ranking 24th against the pass and 26th against the run. However, defense was the reason they beat the Giants forcing 3 turnovers and having 2 defensive TD’s. Their offense has been less than dynamic this season and they must force some turnovers in this division game.

Jax QB Blake Bortles had his first career game winning drive last week and he passed for 247 yards with a TD and 0 INT in the NY win. The Jags have a less than stellar WR corps, but Allen Robinson and Allen Hurns have combined for over 1,050 receiving yards this season.

Bortles will face a Houston pass defense that only ranks 29th in the league. However, the offensive line has a HUGE task in keeping J.J. Watt out of the backfield.

Bortles was also the leading rusher in the win over New York, but Denard Robinson will be counted on to have a good game running the ball facing Houston and their 17th ranked run defense.

4* Cappers NFL Free Pick

The Jags winning streak will be stopped at one in this game, as the Texans will take advantage of their weak defense and easily win and cover the 5-point spread.
