Charlotte will look to avenge one of their worst losses of the season, when they fell to the Hawks by 30 points on Saturday.

Chicago

Playing their 8th road game in their past 9 games, the Chicago Bulls look to change their fortunes in the back end of their back-to-backs as they head to Charlotte to take on Al Jefferson and
the Charlotte Hornets. Thus far, the Bulls have shown signs of fatigue when dealing with playing two games in as many nights. They are just 2-3 S.U. in the back end of back-to-backs.

Playing more than half their games on the road this season, the Chicago Bulls are 9-3 away from the United Center. With an 11-6 record overall, the Bulls sit just 2 games off the Eastern Conference lead, behind Toronto. The Bulls currently lead the NBA Central Division by 1.5 games over Cleveland.

Their success this season has been thanks in large part to the consistency on both the offensive and defensive ends. The Bulls, lead by Jimmy Butler’s 21.9 points per game, have the 13th best offense in the NBA with 101.1 points a game. The offseason acquisition of Pau Gasol has given the Bulls a big boost in terms of rebounding, where they average 43.0 a game.

Chicago is 6-6 ATS on the road and average 101.7 points per road contest.

Charlotte

The Hornets return to Charlotte has been anything but pretty so far in 2014. Sitting 8 games off the pace in the NBA Southeast Division, the Hornets have dropped 9 in a row and 11 of their last 12. The 25th ranked scoring offense (93.6 points a game), is led by C Al Jefferson and his 20.0 points. Just two other Hornets are averaging double digit points this season.

In search of some kind of answer, the Hornets are coming off their worst loss in 2014, falling by 30 points in Atlanta 105-75. The Hornets trailed by as many as 44 in the game and had just Al Jefferson scoring in double figures up until garbage time when reserve PG P.J. Hairston scored a couple baskets to push him into double digits.

The Hornets have seen 3 of their 4 wins this season have come inside Time Warner Cable Arena, where they average above their season point total average with 96.1 points a game.

NBA Basketball Handicapping Trends:

  • Bulls are 9-2 ATS in their last 11 Wednesday games.
  • Bulls are 4-1 ATS in their last 5 vs. Eastern Conference.
  • Hornets are 16-5-1 ATS in their last 22 vs. NBA Central.
  • Bulls are 5-1 ATS in the last 6 meetings in Charlotte.

Free 4* NBA Basketball Pick: Charlotte +4.5

While the play on the court and trends favor the Bulls, playing back-to-backs has not been their specialty.

Charlotte 91, Chicago 82

Look for a close game in the 1st half and the well rested Hornets to pull away in the 2nd half with the fatigue playing a big role in this game.
