Detroit Lions vs. Arizona Cardinals Preview
On the season the Lions are 5-4 ATS and they have an O/U record of 2-7 and the Cardinals are 7-2 ATS and they have an Under record of 3-5-1.
This season the Cardinals are 5-0 at home and the Lions are 3-1 on the road.

In their last games the Cardinals beat the St. Louis Rams 31-14 and the Lions beat the Miami Dolphins 20-16.
While the Cardinals have the best record in football and they are riding a 5-game winning streak things are not all well in the desert. In the win over the Rams QB Carson Palmer suffered a knee injury and he is out for the season. On top of that the Arizona pass defense ranks 30th in the league, which is not good facing Matthew Stafford and a healthy Calvin Johnson.
The Lions have won 4 straight and they atop the NFC North, but how good are they? They only have 2 wins this season facing teams that are currently over .500 and their once dynamic offense has failed to score over 25 points in every game, but the opener this season. However, their D has been outstanding, as they rank in the top 3 in the league in both pass and run defense.

Drew Stanton takes over as the starter under center for the Cardinals and he is 2-1 this season. It helps that he has a legit WR corps led by the rejuvenated Larry Fitzgerald, who has shown in the last few weeks he may still be an elite WR.
Even in the win over the Rams the Cardinal could do nothing in the ground game. Andre Ellington only had 23 yards in 18 carries facing the Rams and he has a tall task in this game facing a great Detroit run defense that stuffed the run in the big win at Miami.
Stafford has to be happy that Megatron is back and to be facing a struggling Arizona secondary. The Cardinals had 2 big picks in the Rams’ win and while Stafford has been putting up good numbers he still has 4 INT in his last 3 games as well as 6 TD.
Stafford may have to do it all, as he has not gotten much help from the rushing offense that ranks 2nd to last in the NFL. On top of that the Cardinals’ strength on defense is their run D, which ranks 3rd in the league.
