Green Bay
Green Bay was pretty efficient in beating Minnesota last week. They held super back Adrian Peterson in check relatively, a task made easier with inexperienced QB Joe Webb under center for the Vikings.
They got their work in and now they are game ready for San Francisco, a team that kind of embarrassed them to begin the season…
In the opener the Packers looked a little unprepared. They got themselves down early and just couldn’t pull themselves out. I expect the offense to be be able to score some points but they will need to a much better job on defense.

They gave up too much on the ground and didn’t put much pressure on the QB (Alex Smith – remember him)…The Packers are going from a heavy favourite last week to a small dog this one.
Last week they covered relatively easily and this will mark just the third time they have not been favoured this season – they are 1-1 ATS.
Playing away from home at this point in the season has some advantage for this team as they rely more on the pass and the conditions could be better for this in San Fran instead of Green Bay this time of year.

After another strong regular season and division championship we will now see whether the Colin Kaepernick experiment is a success. San Francisco has looked both very good and very ordinary since he was installed as a starter but it was all about getting to the playoffs and winning…
At times Kaepernick has looked fantastic and at times not.
If the defense plays like it normally does (2nd in the league in points) and Frank Gore gashes the Packers again then CK does not have to be other worldly.
All they want are a couple of big plays that his athleticism delivers, be they running or throwing…As a short favourite it is hard not to like San Francisco.
They are playing at home against a team they have already beaten this season.
They got back to winning in the final week of the season, a game they had to have to clinch the division so I don’t think the layoff will affect their readiness to go at kickoff. If they win they should cover.
