A stingy defense that boasts an NFL-best 36 sacks while holding opposing offenses to a league-low 12 points per game, and a solid offense has Kansas City off to its best start in 10 seasons.

Wide receiver Dwayne Bowe, who had one catch last week in the Chiefs’ 23-17 win over the Browns, has fared well against the Buffalo secondary in the past, hauling in eight receptions for 102 yards and a pair of touchdowns in last season’s victory over the Bills.

His high flying acrobatics, along with a Kansas City (8-0) running game that is led by back Jamaal Charles, should enough to be able to get the job done on Sunday.

Charles is averaging a league-best 127 yards from scrimmage, and will aim to rebound from an awful performance the last time he faced the Bills, finishing with just six yards in a 35-17 loss on Sept. 16, 2012. [soliloquy id=”82219″]

Meanwhile, the Bills (3-5) have dropped three of their last four while a bevy of injuries continues to ransack their roster.

A high-ankle sprain for running back C.J. Spiller has dealt a huge blow to the Bills offense, which already had its share of troubles moving the ball and finding the endzone on a regular basis.

The injury could keep him on the sideline for the second straight week.

In the meantime, veteran Fred Jackson will need to overcome a sprained MCL in an effort to keep Kansas City’s pass rush at bay, which is lead by linebacker Justin Houston who enters Sunday’s contest with NFL second-best 11 sacks.

The Chiefs will look to disrupt the rhythm of quarterback Thad Lewis, who was 22-of-39 for 234 yards and a touchdown for the Bills  in last week’s loss to New Orleans.

Lewis was flushed out to the pocket several times by the Saints, tossing an interception and losing two fumbles.

I think it’s safe to say the Chiefs will leave upstate New York with their ninth straight win of the season, as they pester Lewis into several key turnovers.

Chiefs 21, Bills 10
