The NFC East is far from decided and Washington (2-4) still have a shot as they currently sit just two games out of first place in the division.

The Redskins got off to a slow start, but since have reeled off two wins in their last three games, including a 45-41 surprise victory over Chicago last time out

Robert Griffin III led the charge, completing 18-of-29 pass attempts for 298 yards and two TDs for the Redskins in the win.  He also rushed for a season-high 84 on 11 carries

It was the most points Washington had scored since 2005.

The Skins’ managed to amass 499 yards, while the defense contained Chicago’s offense , holding them to 359 yards. [soliloquy id=”82219″]

Nevertheless, defensively the Redskins are allowing 31 points per game, and have just four interceptions and five fumble recoveries.

The unit will need to step it up of they want to walk away with a win on Sunday against a Broncos offense that ranks first in both points and yards per game.

Denver (6-1) will seek their 11th straight regular-season home victory Sunday with the help of quart back  Peyton Manning who has completed 72 percent of his passes with 25 touchdowns and three interceptions this season.

Nevertheless, Manning’s performance was squandered last week in Indianapolis, as the Denver defense allowed Colts QB Andrew Luck to erupt for three TDs to lead his team to a 39-33 win over the Broncos on Sunday at Lucas Oil Stadium.

Defensively, the Broncos are struggling, allowing nearly 30 points and 400 yards per game, including three games where opponents have scores 49 points or more. However, the defense should see improvement as Von Miller is back for his second game this season.

Matt’s Free Prediction

The total here is 58, and I can see that going over considering Denver’s past defensive performances and the recent Washington offensive surge.

As for the winner.

I expect Denver to regroup, pulling out a close one at home by single score.

Broncos 35, Redskins 28
