The Jets (4-3) arrive in Ohio staring at a decent record despite their off season quarterback quandary, with chosen starter Geno Smith completing 58 percent of his passes with eight touchdowns.

However, he has tossed 11 interceptions, including one last time out in a 30-27 loss to the Patriots at MetLife Stadium last week.

Smith completed 17-of-33 pass attempts for 233 yards and one TD, but it wasn’t enough as New England rolled past a Jets defense, which is allowing 23 points and 302 yards with two interceptions, 24 sacks and nine fumble recoveries.

Meanwhile, the Bengals (5-2) are rolling and have their sights on making the playoffs for the third consecutive season.

Unlike seasons past, the year’s success is coming from both sides of the ball. [soliloquy id=”82219″]

Offensively, the Bengals aren’t putting up a ton of points, averaging just  21 and 365 yards per game, but more importantly, they’re not making mistakes, sporting a minus two turnover ratio.

Quarterback Andy Dalton has completed 66 percent of his passes with 11 touchdowns to just six interceptions and has been supported by a solid running game anchored by BenJarvus Green-Ellis and Giovanni Bernard who are averaging nearly four yards per carry.

On the other side of the ball, the Bengals defense is downright stingy, allowing 19 points and 334 yards per game with five interceptions, 18 sacks and six fumble recoveries.

That’s going to make scoring difficult on a Jets offense that is putting up less than 20 points per game.

To keep up, New York will enlist the services of Bilal Powell to balance out Sunday’s attack. Powell is averaging a little over four yards per carry and he has 15 receptions out of the backfield.

The total in this one is set at 41, but with two teams that don’t put up a ton of points and have two solid defenses, the play here seems to me to be the UNDER.

If you’re looking for the points spread play, take the Bengals as home field advantage and a slightly better offense will surely provide a one-score difference.

Bengals 24, Jets 17
