Baltimore sits in second place in the AFC North and have definatly felt the hangover of last year’s Super Bowl loss, but still have a roster more than capable of competing with any team in the league.

The offense is averaging 22 points and 335 yards per game, but rank just 27th in the NFL in rushing, with just 72 yards per game.

Quarterback Joe Flacco has taken most to of blame for the Ravens slow start after leading the team in turnovers (8 INTs) through the first four games, including a five-interception performance at Buffalo.

However, Flacco redeemed himself last time out, and did did not have a pick in a close 19-17 home loss to the Green Bay Packers.

In his defense, Flacco has been sacked 19 times.

Defensively the Ravens are one stingy bunch, allowing just 21 points and 325 yards per game with four interceptions, 22 sacks and seven fumble recoveries. [soliloquy id=”82219″]

Meanwhile, the Steelers won on the road against the New York Jets last week.  It’s been a disaster in Pittsburgh, but they did make some positive strides against the Jets.

The Steelers problems all begin with an offense that is struggling to put points on the board, averaging just under 18 points per game.  They are also struggling to move the ball, especially on the ground, with just a 61-yards per game average, which ranks them 31st in the NFL.

The o-line is a whole other problem, as quarterback Ben Roethlisberger has felt the heat of the pass rush with five interceptions and 18 sacks.

The Steelers, meanwhile, are solid defensively, allowing 23 points and 310 yards per game with two interceptions, seven sacks and three fumble recoveries.

Matt’s Free NFL Prediction

It’s not too late for the Steelers to regroup and turn their season around, and they have a little bit of momentum that they should be able to draw from after their win.

Nevertheless, there will be little room for error against a Ravens squad that although don’t have the depth or talent they have had in recent years, can still bite unwary, complacent opponents.

Ravens 28, Steelers 17
