Pittsburgh is going to come into this game angry after losing to the Bucs (27-24) at home. Jacksonville had a good game last week by their standards and they’ll look to get a win over the struggling Steelers.

Blake Bortles completed 29/37 passes for 254 yards, 1 TD and 2 INT’s in his regular season debut. Sure, he made a few mistakes, but I liked to see him running the football and his accuracy was good.
Jacksonville has to work on the run game (69.8 RYPG – 30th) to keep pressure off of Bortles. It looks like it was a mistake to sign Toby Gerhart to be the starting RB, as he has been borderline useless.
Allen Robinson and Allen Hurns have been surprises at WR, as they’ve combined to catch 29 passes for 346 receiving yards and 3 TD’s. Both of them will need to play big against the Steelers secondary.
Pittsburgh is allowing 239.5 PYPG (16th), 113.2 RYPG (16th) and 24.8 PPG (21st). The Jags will have a chance to score above their season average of 14.5 PPG (31st) if Bortles can avoid the costly turnovers.
It’s hard to believe the Steelers are almost a TD favorite even though they’re playing the Jags. This team lost to the Bucs last week at Heinz Field and it’s hard to know what Pittsburgh team will show up.

The Steelers have a lot of talent on offense. They’re averaging 24.2 PPG (13th) and 412.0 YPG (5th). I have been impressed with Le’Veon Bell and Antonio Brown has started up where he left off last season.
Jacksonville has the worst defense in the NFL. The Jags defense has given up 38.0 PPG (32nd), 320.8 PYPG (32nd) and 130.5 RYPG (25th). They need to force some turnovers to keep teams from scoring.
This is a tough game to predict ATS because you really can’t trust Pittsburgh at this point. With the spread being under a TD I’m going to be betting on the Steelers to cover despite their poor game last week.

These two teams rarely play against each other, so there are no H2H trends to look at. One reason to like the Steelers is because they’re actually 4-1 ATS in their last four games played on the road.

Bortles will have some success through the air, but I expect him to turn it over once or twice again, as he is still learning to play in the pros. This Pittsburgh defense will be looking to pressure him constantly.
