NFL Football Picks: Handicapping Angles – Week 5 Free Parlay

Week 5 FREE NFL Parlay Picks

Last week’s two-team parlay proved that it pays to shop around when it comes to betting odds in the NFL. The extra half point I got on BetOnline’s Eagles vs. 49ers game when I booked my parlay was the difference between a losing ticket and a healthy payoff.

I will try and hit my third NFL parlay in the first five weeks of the season with another solid two-team play for this Sunday’s games based on betting odds from BetOnline.

Game 1 – Atlanta Falcons vs. New York Giants

Pointspread: New York -4
Total Line: 50.5

I am not sure if the Atlanta Falcons are going to be able to pull-off a worst-to-first run in the NFC South this season, but I do know it will be fun to watch them try. Win or lose they have been able to put points on the board.

Matt Ryan has been throwing the ball all over the field with 1,263 passing yards and 10 touchdowns and his favorite target Julio Jones has lit it up as well with 29 receptions for 447 yards and three scores.

The Falcons are ranked second in the league in scoring (32.8 points) and their defense is ranked 28th in points allowed (28.2).

The Giants sleep-walked their way into the new season with sloppy losses to Detroit and Arizona, but they are awake now with back-to-back victories over Houston and Washington by a combined score of 75-31. Eli Manning has returned to form after struggling with turnovers his first two games and Rashad Jennings has revitalized the running game with 341 yards on the ground.

This will be a big test for both of these 2-2 teams, but the net result will be more than 50 combined points on the scoreboard.

Game 2- Cincinnati Bengals vs. New England Patriots

Pointspread: Cincinnati -1
Total Line: 45.5

The Bengals are just one of two teams left in the NFL with a perfect record, but they have only played three games after last week’s bye.

The bandwagon for this team is standing room only if you believe all the various power rankings that are currently released on a weekly basis, but I am not completely sold.

The numbers do paint a strong case against my skepticism with a defense that has allowed a total of 33 points in its first three games complementing an offense under the direction of Andy Dalton that has put up an average of 26.7 points per game.

[dfads params=’groups=63752&limit=1&return_javascript=0′]

You can get a seat anywhere you want on New England’s bandwagon after Monday night’s 41-14 pasting by Kansas City as a 2.5-point road favorite. People started jumping off the week before when the mighty Patriots had to squeeze by lowly Oakland 16-9 as hefty 13.5 point favorites at home.

The problems with the offense are obvious as Tom Brady has been under constant pressure all season long and the defense has had its issues stopping the run.

I had New England going to the Super Bowl this season, so despite all the concrete evidence to the contrary, I am staying on the bandwagon for at least one more week with a play on the Patriots plus the point at home this Sunday night.

4* NFL Parlay Pick: Pats ATS
