Broncos 2014 NFL Draft Predictions

Need #1. Along the way they were an offensive juggernaut and as long as QB Peyton Manning is healthy they should continue to have one of the most lethal offenses in the NFL.

However, their loss was so humbling that they surely must be looking for ways to improve. They have made significant upgrades to the defense in luring DE DeMarcus Ware and CB Aqib Talib via free agency so the area of greatest need is probably adding to the secondary.

Also, I am not set on Brock Osweiler to carry the torch after Manning. Adding a development pick at QB and maybe another runner with some prospects might not be bad ideas.

Top Pick Target

CB Bradley Roby – The Ohio State corner looks ready to step into the fray from day one and be a player. Were he just a little bigger he would probably be a top 15 pick but just as he is he could be a steal at the end of the first round.

Denver has the luxury of going with the best player available at pretty much any slot in this draft and I think it is possible he might be there when they make their first selection.

Other potential gets

WR Marqise Lee – The USC product is slipping in the eyes of many off of a disappointing junior campaign. He knows how to get open and if he was on the same page as Manning he could have a fantastic impact as a rookie.

He might be available at the end of the first and though this would not be a need pick. It would add some nice depth and Lee can also be a factor in the return game.

DT Daniel McCullers – This dude is absolutely massive and you know he looks good in Orange after playing at Tennessee.  His size makes him an intriguing prospect, one definitely worth taking a chance on in round 2 or maybe even in round one depending on how things shake out.

Because of his size you can put him in the middle and dare people to run on you. When they pass he has an unheard of wingspan to alter throws downfield. With the right coaching he could be an All-Pro in two years easily.

RB DeAnthony Thomas – One of the best pure playmakers available.

At Oregon he showed his versatility and in an offense where there are other players that need to be accounted for he could be a fantastic addition.

I know some are concerned that he will just be another Dexter McCluster but he is more natural in terms of his routes than the Kansas City Chief.

His speed and elusiveness are just too hard to ignore.
