Philadelphia Eagles Betting Odds – NFL Football Futures

Do you need a clinic on how to run a professional sports franchise? Do you need some ideas on how to create some buzz in a professional sports city? Look no further than the Philadelphia Eagles and study what they were able to accomplish in just a few weeks after the lockout.

**Ready To Bet On NFL Season Win Total Odds? We will have them posted soon!

A look at the numbers:

Last season – 10-6 SU, 8-8 ATS
Projection this season – 12-4 (1st in NFC East)
Eagles Super Bowl XLVI Odds: +1200
Eagles 2011/12 NFC Odds – +900
2011 Eagles NFC East Lines – +150

The Eagles were able to steal All-Pro cornerback Nnamdi Asomugha, sign Pro Bowl defensive end Jason Babin and defensive tackle-end Cullen Jenkins. They also acquired cornerback Dominique Rodgers-Cromartie from Arizona in the Kevin Kolb trade. All will start for one of the most daunting defenses in the NFL.

Offensively, there wasn’t a whole lot of work to be done but instead of resting on what was one of the most dynamic units last season, the Eagles were able to improve an offensive line that gave up 49 sacks last season by signing right tackle Ryan Harris away from the Denver Broncos.

They also added depth to the running back position by signing ex-Dolphin Ronnie Brown and depth to tight end with the addition of ex-Packer Donald Lee. Insane!

Whew! Let’s talk about some returning players that excite the hell out of most NFL fans. Michael Vick passed for 3,018 yards on 63 percent completions with 21 touchdowns and six interceptions. He also added 676 rushing yards and nine touchdowns in a season in which he played in only 12 games. [soliloquy id=”82219″]

Vick is the definition of dynamic – health is the only thing that stands in his way. It is good to see DeSean Jackson back in camp – Jeremy Maclin has a mysterious illness with no word on when his first practice will take place. Jackson and Maclin combined for an impressive 117 receptions totaling more than 2,000 yards and 16 touchdowns by themselves last season – impressive indeed.

Jason Avant and Brent Celek offer tremendous third and fourth options for Vick. The Eagles’ passing game is dynamic and there is no doubt that there will be some fireworks in the 2011-2012 season.

Running Back LeSean McCoy is the real deal and is one of the most promising dual threat backs in the NFL this season – Fantasy addicts take note! He had 1,672 yards from scrimmage last season and according to reports he figures to get a whole lot more work this upcoming season – it will be good for Vick and ultimately good for the team.

Now for the defense! Asomugha, Asante Samuel and Dominique Rodgers-Cromartie in the secondary just doesn’t seem fair. The Eagles one weakness last season was against the pass (31 touchdowns against through the air).

The addition of Cullen Jenkins solidifies what was a decent defensive line from a season ago.

Philadelphia Eagles NFC East Prediction

If hopes for the Eagles were high before the lockout ended, they are through the atmosphere at present time. Everyone is expecting greatness from Philadelphia this season – nothing short of a long playoff run will suffice. There is absolutely no holes on this team – none!

12-4 would be a disappointment but it wouldn’t be a shock in the always competitive NFC East.

1st place is almost a certainty!
