When newly-minted Georgia Tech head coach Paul Johnson brought his triple option attack over from the Naval Academy a couple seasons ago, people were skeptical.

However, he’s quickly turned the Jackets into an offensive tour-de-force. GT pivot Josh Nesbitt won’t beat you through the air, but he doesn’t have to. Tech is ranked second in the FBS in rushing and that has pretty much single-handedly guided them to a very successful ACC campaign.
Clemson, on the other hand, are the permanent underachievers, but the squad has a chance to shed that label somewhat with a victory over Tech at Raymond James Stadium. In terms of raw talent on the roster, the Tigers are superior to Georgia Tech.
However, Tigers coach Dabo Swinney will have to concoct a scheme where they can minimize the amount of damage Nesbitt, Jonathan Dwyer and Co. do to them on the ground.
They will also have to hope their all-everything tailback C.J. Spiller makes enough big plays to possibly make the Jackets play from behind.
Georgia Tech edged Clemson 30-27 in a Week 2 Thursday night game at home. I think the Tigers still remember that sting, and Clemson also has the athletes on defense to pressure Nesbitt and spur him into fumbling or making a mistake.
While hordes of experts have been burned doing this in the past, I will throw caution to the wind and pick Clemson in a tight one.

Georgia Tech took some of the luster off this game with their loss to Georgia, but should still be able to walk away with the ACC Title by beating Clemson.
They played an extremely close game earlier this season and the Tigers and six points is rather tempting, but I’m going with the Yellow Jackets by a touchdown.
