Miami is one of the speediest teams in the nation and they are coming off a big upset win, which really helps their BCS chances. Kansas State is 2-0, but they have played a couple of cream puffs and looked less than impressive beating one of them in a 10-7 home win vs. Eastern Kentucky.

Kansas St. Wildcats vs. Miami (FL) Hurricanes Preview
NCAAF lines have the Hurricanes as 12.5-point home favorites with a total of 48.
Last week the Canes scored a HUGE win beating a ranked Ohio State team handily 24-6 while Kansas State had no problem crushing Kent State 37-0.
Both teams have an ATS record of 1-1 on the season with KSU having an Over/Under record of 0-2 with Miami at 1-1.
This will be the first legit team that Kansas State has played this season and they will be facing a Miami team that has a ton of confidence.
Miami will be tough to handle in this game, as Kansas State tends to struggle against teams that play a spread offense, which Miami features. Canes’ QB Jacory Harris passed for 123 yards in the Ohio State win with a couple of TD’s, but he was also picked off twice.
Kansas State does have the nation’s 2nd ranked pass defense, but that is a little deceiving since they have not faced a team with a good passing offense so far on the young season. The secondary of the Wildcats must keep up with the fast WR’s of Miami and not get beat by them deep.
Kansas State has the nation’s 8th ranked run defense, again not so impressive facing Eastern Kentucky and Kent State, and they have one goal in this game, which is to stop Miami RB Lamar Miller, who rushed for 184 yards averaging 7.1 yards per carry in the win over Ohio State. Kansas State is pretty one-dimensional on offense ranking 35th in the nation in rushing yards per game and only 115th in passing yards per game. The big gun for KSU on offense is duel threat QB Collin Klein, who is more dangerous running the ball and will be going up a suspect Miami run defense that gave up 174 yards on the ground to Ohio State.
Klein will need help on the ground by fellow RB John Hubert (120 rushing yards) and he also has to complete some passes to his less than stellar WR corps so the Canes do not stack the front line D to stuff the run.

The Canes have way too much speed on both sides of the ball and they are flying high after last’s weeks big win. Take Miami to win this game and cover the 12.5-point spread and even though I would stay away from the O/U I think the game will go Under the posted total.
