No. 7 Oklahoma State Cowboys vs. No. 8 Texas A&M Aggies Preview
Last week the Aggies were impressive in beating Idaho 37-7 and OSU gave up 33 points and still won by 26 scoring a 59-33 win over Tulsa.
The Cowboys are 2-1 ATS on the season with an Over/Under record of 2-1 and Texas A&M is 1-1 ATS and has an Over/Under record of 1-1.
Last season the Aggies out-gained the Cowboys 535-351 yards, but A&M committed 5 turnovers and they cannot cough the ball over in this game.
The OSU offense ranks 3rd in the nation in scoring with QB Brandon Weeden passing for over 350 yards and RB Joseph Randle rushing for over 120 yards in each of the Cowboys first 3 games. Weeden has a great WR corps including Justin Blackmon, who may be the best WR in the nation.
One key for A&M winning is getting to Weeden and the Aggies already have 11 sacks on the season. They have to pressure him to make up for their mediocre, at best, secondary that ranks 51st in the nation. The Aggies’ are stellar stopping the run with the nation’s 10th ranked run defense. Texas A&M QB Ryan Tannehill passed for 337 yards with 2 TD and 1 INT in the blowout win over Idaho and WR’s Uzoma Nwachukwu and Jeff Fuller each averaged over 13 yards per catch in the game. The Cowboys have a decent pass rush, but they will face an Aggies’ offensive line that has yet to give up a sack this season. They may have to get to Tannehill since the Cowboys’ pass D only ranks 84th in the nation.
The Aggies will try to keep Weeden off the field by running the ball behind lead back RB Cyrus Gray, who has rushed for over 100 yards in both of the Aggies games. They may be successful doing it since the OSU run defense was torched last week giving up 365 rushing yards in the win over Tulsa.
